I just wanted to get an idea of what the appropriate measuring stick was, so I took the opposite of Fox News and the opposite of Flava Flav.
If being successful is Fox News and Flava Flav and being unsuccessful is MSNBC and _______ , could we also then reach the conclusion that comparing a cable news network to a drug addicted hype man from an early 90's rap group who briefly stared on a reality TV show is probably closer to apples and bowling balls?
Why not include Oprah, Bill Gates, Facebook, DELL, Warren Buffet, Drew Brees, Lucy Liu, Shogun Rua, Kobe Bryant, or 1000000 other successful people or entities?

You look at the shows on CNN or MSNBC and rarely do you see a conservative in there presenting their view. Not only that, but name me a conservative or independent who has his own show in either CNN or MSNBC. Name one.
At FOX, they have O'Reilly and Geraldo and at times you will see Liberal after liberal spouting off their garbage on FOX. You don't see that on the other networks.
I will try to find the link, but last year an INDEPENDENT media watch group placed FOX at the top for presenting more accurately opposing points of views on a number of topics that were not even reported on by the other networks.
Is FOX conservative, sure. The difference is they don't hide that fact. CNN and MSNBC try to present themselves as having impartiality, but all their hosts are all over Obama's nutsack.

I think there is value in cable news. I hear stuff there that I don't readily see on the internet or hear on the radio. Getting the news from multiple sources is best IMO.
I agree most of what they show on TV is garbage. I have 10,000 channels (no not really) and probably watch less than ten.
For that matter, most of what Hollywood puts out on the big screen is garbage.

I am surprised that Malkin wrote a book called, In Defense of Internment: The Case for Racial Profiling in World War II and the War on Terror (see http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0895260514/hotair06-20/ref=nosim) If she had lived in the U.S. during WWII, she would have likely been interred, since the chance any white americans would be able to tell she is Phillipino rather than Japanese is unlikely. If the terrorists against america today were primarily Asian, Malkin would likely be profiled and get checked every time she set foot in the airport. (If for no other reason than she is hot and the security guys would want to frisk her thoroughly;-)

I'm sure Fox ignores certain stories just like they all do, it's impossible to cover everything but when it comes to the major events/stories, I've yet to see them simply leave it out.
As for reporting on the good things the Dems or Obama have done, you're right, they haven't reported a lot of that and there's a big reason for that, there really hasn't been anything to report that's a positive...you can't praise them for scoring a touchdown when they've yet to get a first down.

I'm sure Fox ignores certain stories just like they all do, it's impossible to cover everything but when it comes to the major events/stories, I've yet to see them simply leave it out.
As for reporting on the good things the Dems or Obama have done, you're right, they haven't reported a lot of that and there's a big reason for that, there really hasn't been anything to report that's a positive...you can't praise them for scoring a touchdown when they've yet to get a first down.

FOX news didn't play the obama conferences much this year, and msn snubbed bush. At the same time, FOX showed it anytime bush made comments anywhere, and msn covers it when obama walks to a deli.
They BOTH do it. I start a lot of threads when I see it - I like to skip around the news channels - and it's like clockwork... "Obama comes to the rose garden to make comments" on msnbc and "18% of americans think obama is a muslim" on FOX.
I'm not sure ppl saying msn does it (and fox does not) watch BOTH networks. I do. I love them both because I know the truth is in the middle.

This is so false it's not even funny. O.k. it's a little funny. :) All three networks cover almost every word the president speaks at a national press conference. They cover pretty much all press conferences by the White House press secretary. They cover speeches made on campaign stops. In fact, this morning I watched Fox News cover a meeting Obama had at some family's house, followed by a meeting in some family's backyard. Saying Fox doesn't cover Obama, or that other networks didn't cover Bush is just not true.

Agreed. MSNBC covered Bush, they had to, it was the only way they could scream and cry about him and Fox covers every step Obama takes, for crying out loud, they covered him swimming the other day.

The liberals and mainstream media are never going to admit that Obama is a failure. That would mean making big asses out of themselves. They took George Bush, who other than Reagan was no worse than any other president we had for the past 35 years, and made him out to be the worst president in history. Then they took Barack Obama and they said he would be the savior of our country in spite of his lack of experience. Now it turns out he is a complete disaster and has taken the flaws of Bush and multiplied them times atleast 4 (4 times the debt).
Im never going to let them forget this. My question is, what is going to happen to outlets such as NBC and MSNBC? Can they survive after an amarassment like this? There is no reason we should still be stuck in the economic doldrums. Bush experienced a lot of bad luck with the bursting of the housing bubble, and Obama was in the lucky position to reign over a strong economic recovery and take credit for it. Instead, he is causing anemic economic growth and we may go into a double dip recession. That alone puts him among the worst presidents of our time.

Agreed bush didnt cause the melt down(like some would like to believe) and nobody would have forseen the problems and moved to prevent them.
I dont think we will go into a double dip recession at least not in the terms of the last recession but we will likely be stuck in this limbo for quite some time.

Very true, no one saw it coming and Bush was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. If Gore had been elected or Kerry in 02 then we'd still have ended up in the same boat. Our mess is due to paying for our sins of the past, they simply finally caught up to us. And yes, it can be said, Bush didn't help matters any with some of the things done, but our economic state is due to years and years of snowballing to the state we're in now.

I hope you're right but all signs point to the whole matter getting worse...except for the signs on the chart Obama recites to us, because those charts are made in magic fairy land.

They'll still get thrills up and down their legs and fall prostrate before Obama. But, if the Dems get killed, they'll have those sour-puss looks on their faces, as if someone shot their dog.
