Don't think this has been posted yet, if so I missed it.
President Obama, AKA Emperor of the North American Socialist Republic, said this wk that social security is not in trouble. His words and then some short observations:
"So here’s the thing. Social Security is not in crisis. What is happening is, is that the population is getting older, which means we’ve got more retirees per worker than we used to. We’re going to have to make some modest adjustments in order to strengthen it. There are some fairly modest changes that could be made without resorting to any newfangled schemes that would continue Social Security for another 75 years, where everybody would get the benefits that they deserve.
And what we’ve done is we’ve created a fiscal commission of Democrats and Republicans to come up with what would be the best combination to help stabilize Social Security for not just this generation, but the next generation. I’m absolutely convinced it can be done. And as I said, I want to encourage people to save more on their own, but I don’t want them taking money out of Social Security so that people are putting that into the stock market. There are other ways of doing this."
Two things stick out, "The benefits that they deserve." Really? Once again the true belief system of General Secretary Obama comes through.
More importantly, "I don’t want them taking money out of Social Security so that people are putting that into the stock market. There are other ways of doing this." Is there or has there ever been a president of the U.S. who is so anti-free-market? Are you kidding me!?! He actually said this!?!?
Wake up people!!!

We're counting on these fine folks to find a solution. Does that make anyone here feel any better? One only has to think about how these guys have "helped" us out of things that they tried to convince Americans werent in a crisis in the first place.

Yeah, we are. I still don't think most Americans really see it, sure, a lot of people have started waking up but they're still groggy. My concern, come Nov. Republicans will take both the house and senate but we will still vote in a bunch of progressive republicans, we'll still vote based on "Feelings" and not common sense and we'll find ourselves falling just as hard as before.
You know this'll probably sound nuts but oh well, it's the truth. Our system of government was not designed to be ruled by "Rulers" it was designed to be run by the common man, the common man with common sense. In all honesty, it's not that hard of a job, stressful, sure but it's not brain surgery. It only takes common sense and sound judgment, a degree from Harvard is not a requirement. Yet we continue to vote for the "Elites" "Oh, he has 7 degrees from Ivy League schools, lets vote for him based on that...Oh, he doesn't posses one shred of common sense but he looks very presidential, lets vote for him." Lord God help us, we have lost our mind!
