Title: Water Retention - Should I worry about it at all?
Post by: bodybuilder1234 on August 21, 2010, 05:06:32 PM
I only ate 0.5 grams of protein per pound today but according to Adonis this is sufficient.
So naturally I had more spare calories to indulge on cakes and candy, but what I noticed was that my body was carrying a shit load of water. This didnt happen yesterday when I was eating 1 gram of protein per pound.

Should I worry about the water retention thats occurring? Does it slow down fatloss even though I'm not overeating?

That sounds like the type of nutrition program that makes champions.

I'm not an expert on these principles but I would try lowering the protein intake to .02 and switching up the cake an candy for krispy kremes and haagan dazs.

holding water can actually be good i.e. for joints, and strength.

however making weight can make a difference.

2-3 days before you weight in replace half your carbs with protein, then the next day half it again.

you'll be pissing like a racehorse. after you weigh in carb up  8)

that being the case why listen to clowns like apenis or wavelength
who has never been on stage or in the ring.
haven't been in the ring personally but i have been on stage.
eat clean train sleep as i said before. then ask how many boxers
follow their idiotic diet. or bodybuilders for that matter. how many
have followed their crap and gotten on stage. none

Water weight will go down anyway as you approach low bodyfat levels, no matter what you eat. You can always get the super dry look within one or two days. Don't worry about it.

he is not concerned about a super dry look or any look for that matter.
his concern is making a weight class.
do your dumbass diet and get on stage.
til then you have no credibility. apenis never has never will.
no one who competes in any sport follows that ignorant so called diet.
which is a lame excuse for the weak to remain so because they
don't have the sack to cut out shit food and really diet.

as wave and i said - dropping water is extremely easy, and only takes a few days at most.

whats the problem here  ???

actually, wave might agree with you!

he is not saying that his diet is best for getting on stage. He is saying that for the average joe "just eat less", and for the most part the caloric source is not important as long as you get enough protein.  Wave's point is that "keep it simple", eat less and eat what ever you want..just stay in a caloric deficit. No complicated diet scheme and chances are for the average person who will not get on stage the results is to "get lean". I don't follow his diet to the extreme that he does, but the lesson that I have learned is: missing a meal or 2 is not the end of the world.  lol, he would also say that skipping a meal or 2 meal means that you don't have to do cardio, as long as the protein requirement is met.

Wave, correct me if I am missing your point!
