hey guys, just interested about this guy.Hes coming to do a seminar in the Martial arts club i attend in Scotland.Ive heard of and saw him in action a few times but id be lying if i said i knew loads about him.Would it be worth paying to go and see this guy in person is what im asking anyone whos big on MMA etc??

He's pretty awesome. I would go for it if I were you. In his prime he was the most exciting and intimidating fighter of the last ten to twelve years.

Wanderlei Silva, is a great guy, very poilte and very knowledgeable.He lives right down the street from me, and he goes to the same Church I go to.He is a lucky guy , he has a beautiful Brazilian wife, with a perfect body, who is very sweet.
Wanderlei Silva in person is a complete gentlemen, and very nice.He found out I made supplements and asked if he could have some samples.Since it was Wanderlei Silva I just gave him the actual product not samples.He tried to pay me for them, and said, you dont have to give these to me for free.
He now buys my product on a regular basis
Most fighters and bodybuilders expect and want everything for free.
Wanderlei Silva and Frank Mir are the 2 people, who I have known who didnt expect anything for free, and was very appreciative of anything you give them or do for them.

I agree that the whole mma subculture is kind of dorky and pathetic. I went to the last ufc in boston it was my first. We stopped by the expo to get a couple of pics and meet some of the fighters. There was a lot of weird people there. I'm sure bodybuilding fans can relate!! That goes with most sports though.
Wand fought in pride where there was very little rubbing dicks on anything. If you went to the ground you would problalby get soccer kicked in the fucking head.

One of my fav Wanderlie vids. I have nothing but respect for boxing and boxers but to compare in a street fighting sense what MMA fighters do compared to boxing... I mean, does Avery and McAnusMuncher even know that the opening round in Pride was 10 minutes long?
I mean, look at what Silva does to Rampage. "MMA is so far removed from street fighting that it's not even funny," as McAnus said. Wigger Pleeese. Silva in his prime was a savage beast and I'd put my money on him over Tyson on the street any day. Tyson was human too as Buster Douglas (who?) proved knocking Tyson out while Tyson was still in his twenties, his physical prime. Unless Tyson trained in some wrestling and kick boxing and not just punching and protecting his upper body and face, Wanderlie would have destroyed him in the street. And Wanderlie did way more street fighting than Tyson ever did.

I don't know about Wandy vs a prime Tyson. Wandy utilizes wild swings and aggression (something a prime Tyson had in bucketloads+ scary punching power) Tyson was more technically sound and dangerous when he was training with Rooney. Unless Wandy went to his BJJ skills Tyson would have ripped him apart..a la Belfort (wandy vs Vitor)

I love Wand, but he was a stand up brawler with real sloppy technique, which is funny enough what made his fights exciting. Mike had way too much speed, power, precision and technique for someone with Wands style. Unless he took him down straight away it wouldn't even be a fight. You must have been watching another fight to the Douglas fight i saw, because he was getting his head snapped back for ten rounds, it was hardly some flash knockout. Wand would have absolutely zero chance of doing anything standing. Best hope is BJJ and hope he doesn't get his face chewed off.

remember tyson couldnt get rid of holyfield...so a guy with a great chin could hang in there with tyson. that being said...tyson is very similar to frazier with short fast hooks. tyson was also an accumulation puncher against the best guys...got lower rated fighters out with one punch.

Lesnar made $400,000 for his last fight not counting any promotional money or incentive money. I don't wear affliction or tapout shirts. I told you before, that was just some wanna be that stole your "lady", not a real fighter. Because Tyson was so ruthless and savage in the ring and so dominate when he first came out (a few years really) there is this mythical quality about him. He's human like everybody else and taken in totality wasn't the dominate heavy weight that he was portrayed to be. He could have been if Cus D'Amato lived longer but after getting knocked out by Buster Douglas while only 24 years old, in his pristine physical prime, he was never the same.
Scroll to about 1:24 to see the legend go down. I remember it just like it was yesterday. I remember where I was, who I was watching the fight with, and the utter shock we all felt watching the seemingly indestructible crumble to the mat. It reminded me how we are all human and some day and at some point we all go down.

no, i almost joined but it was far far too busy at the times i normally workout. its not that big either ( weights section wise).
i just workout from home now. heavy db's and adjustable bench 8)
its not like i'm ever going to be mr olympia so i'm happy.
i used to workout at the paisley university gym near the student residence. pretty decent small gym, it was mostly machines, but decent ones, and it was always empty + dirt cheap 8)
yet to find a gym thats got it all here :(

Yeah i know wot u mean mate.I was working out in a gym that charged £1 every time u used it and it had everything.The stuff was quite old n dirty but i loved it.Place closed down though so im using a small one in a sports centre.Ive also got most of what i need in ma house, just cant do legs 9 no squat rack etc )
