The shrinks now call rebellion in kids, "Oppositional Defiance Disorder", WTF!
My mother who was a teacher was telling me this, before and is reading a article on it...see what happens when Baby Boomer Parents keep coddling their kids, instead of beating their ass...
My parents, especially my mother didn't believe in "rebellion", she used to tell me, "If you want to be a rebel, you better have a cause, and your own home, otherwise this is a two party Dictatorship-your father and I"
America has grown soft...

Remember Brave New World where everyone was medicated with Soma?
Keep em happy
Keep drugged with the "right" medication
Outlaw any drugs that encourage ODD (steroids, weed)

Pretty amazing that they're still having children.

Well, Baby Boomers aren't having kids, but their oldest kids are and that sad shit example of parenting is the norm. The asking the kids to "stop", 10X in a row, the being the child's "friend", buy the child shit so that they keep quiet, etc.

Meh, I guess. I'm not really a believer in whapping kids unless they belong to someone else. Never raised one tho so maybe I'll turn out to be one of the great kid beaters of all time someday.

Haha, "unless they belong to someone else"
other people's kids do get on my nerves..

Kids need their ass beat. I told my wife I could never have a kid because I would be in jail for child abuse. Not because I would put them in the hospital or anything but me hitting them in public would be an issue for some people. Screw this "wait till you get home BS". You got to lay down the hammer the second your kid messes up. I can't even enjoy a meal at a restaurant any longer because some loser family brings in a bunch of unruly kids that scream, run around, cry...The parents need their ass beat just for bringing them in.
-
I'm not saying I hit other peoples kids everywhere I go. A swift kick is much easier to get away with if the parents are around, but if you catch a straggler you can hoist him up by the ears. They're usually too shocked to scream until you set 'em down again.

I don't know man. The amount of chemicals that are running through the veins of kids today are sure to have an effect. They(we) are being bombarded from land/Air/sea/radio waves etc.

The concept of Disorders are quite bogus. It somehow suggest that there is some "ordered" normal way to think. There isn't, there just fixating one one area of human behavior and labeling the outliers as Dis ordered. It's lazy science, trying to make something like pysch simple when it's anything but. A better word would behaviors.

As long as there are "doctors" out there putting a name on the behavior/s and treating them, its then the man/men behind the curtain get to experiment almost openly on all of us without our knowing. Smoke up Johnny!

It turns out that pathologizing or "diseasing" rebellious behavior is not a new trick for those who hold tenuous power over others.
