dilletts genes + yates/gaspari work ethic = mr O for a decade undefeated

unfortunately trained as hard as Vince Taylor, a Wheeler's school of work-ethic disciple, and couldnt hold a pose properly.

Great arm and leg genetics. Not so great back genetics.

I think Wheeler and Vince trained harder than he did...dude didn't even learn to pose properly, just hit a few shots. His 93 posing routine could have been much better if he wasn't shaking...

Dillet looked incredible in 1994.

Dorian Yates said he saw Dillet training back with Charles Glass and all he was hitting was biceps.

Dillet probably had the genetics for an overall freaky physique, but he didn't know how activate or control his back muscles.  It's evident by his posing as well.

watching him pose it appears he has a very poor mind-muscle connection, and cant get a proper contraction, so how does one with that problem achieve such mind-blowing development?

why does his posing remind me of lou ferrigno...like he cant quite contract his muscles ..its akward...at times he cant even seem to balance well when doing shots where his is aideways and has to twist...and he seems to revert back to hitting his bisep again n again sorta like louie

Sans their drugs, their physiques are no more impressive than anyone else's, including many who come here.  I have seen what I believe to be recent footage of Paul Dillet and he is quite average looking.

That alone should put to bed the cries of "genetics freaks" that Weider, et al tend throw around when writing about these "athletes".  Perhaps they respond better to the mass quantities of dope they inject/ingest than others, but all in all they really aren't genetically superior to natural bodybuilders (i.e., real physical culturists).  Are their muscle insertions lower/longer?  Perhaps, but again, take away their dope and they are nothing.

It may well be Mr. Dillet is a fine individual (Craig Titus, not at all), but given the title of this thread I would have to say that without their chemicals messers Dillet, Titus and Prince are less freakzilla and more plain vanilla.

Dillet, like many pros doesn't seem to train or eat properly when not planning to compete. So it's not totally correct to point to Tom Prince or Mustaffa or fat post-career Dillet and say "all drugs" because they seem to just give it all up once they quit. Of course someone who has months of health problems, consequently doesn't train and cuts down on protein considerably is gonna look even smaller than the average gym rat in all probability.

They honestly don't look like they train in those pics, which suggests they weren't. So lack of muscle isn't surprising.

this just reiterates that the single most important necessity in bodybuilding is "response to gear"

not even natural muscularity so much as response to gear

paul off gear, is certainly not a small guy.........but he also does not look like any superman either

he has some of the craziest most active receptors on the planet, cause when he is on, he looks like  a mutant

On a par almost I'd say, Ronnie is stockier looking, you could argue Dillet is more impressive from the front although his chest is smaller, but from the back Ronnie is a freak and Dillet is decidely average, with his mellon delts making his lats look small and narraw.

This video shows them posing one after the other:

For all the haters  >:(

No hate here, just the truth.  Perhaps some here hate the truth?   ;)

Personally I prefer Dillet's physique to Coleman, Cutler, Greene, et al.  He at least, has a waist while the other three (and many more) possess the ubiquitous waste so popular in today's bodybuilding.  As noted by my screen name I am old enough to recall when men trained with weights to better their physiques, increase their strength and to improve their health.  I don't care for druggies, but can easily admit to those whose builds I do admire in spite of their drug habit.

As with Paul Dillet, Kevin Levrone is another bodybuilder whose physique I admire.  In a world of comic tele-chubbies the likes of Kai Greene, a build such as Levrone's stands apart for not only mass, but overall aesthetics.  Bob Paris is another excellent example (perhaps the best) of what weight training (albeit, drug enhanced, unfortunately) can do for a man.  He was/is articulate, handsome and one of, if not the, best posers to ever stand atop a dais.  With few exceptions, Paris did not merely "pose", he presented his physique in a tasteful manner.

He certainly has the best waist out of all the super freaks. If I could walk around for a day looking insanely massive I reckon this would be a cool look.

I believe that pic was from 1996-97. And is from Musclemag. There is a series of pics in which Flex Wheeler "shows Dillett how to hit a Most Muscular", or so how the caption reads. I had the end pic of Flex doing a MM on one of dorm rooms and trained arms...

Funny how Dillett looks better in the face now, than he did when competed....that was one ugly man.
