Title: Carl Lewis on veganism - What a crock!
Post by: dantelis on September 09, 2010, 01:46:40 PM
What a laugh.  Carl Lewis is quoted as saying that his best performance was as a vegan.  He may have been a vegan, but he was doing steroids or some other illegal supplements to get his wins.  His statement is about as valid as Jay Cutler saying, "I owe all my Olympia wins to Muscletech supplements."

Carl Lewis— By most measures of accomplishment, being one of the fastest men on the planet, the Sports Illustrated “Olympian of the Century,” the International Olympic Committee’s “Sportsman of the Century,” and the face of Wheaties would be tough to top.

But for Carl Lewis, the best athletic year of his life came when he switched to vegan.

“I’ve found that a person does not need protein from meat to be a successful athlete. In fact, my best year of track competition was the first year I ate a vegan diet.”

In his book, Very Vegetarian, Lewis discounts the theory that animal protein is the only fuel to a gold medal, and stresses the importance of a smart diet.

“Your body is your temple. If you nourish it properly, it will be good to you, and you will increase its longevity.”

If steroids are artificial hormones, doesn't that make them a type of meat?

Also all that cock meat he loves, hard to really consider him a vegan.

I'm more impress by Tony Gonzalez. Almost veganism, eating soy, and playing in the NFL.
