we're trying to get next to people.  i dont like tourist spots, dont use them when i travel.

hackney and peckham have theater like soho.  what about open markets?

which one has best reggae music seen?  i know jazzie is near soho.

Early December.  will probably also travel to France but my cousin lived there for a yr.

December is usually wet and cold or absolutely freezing.

London should be nice in the run up to Christmas; plenty of festive markets etc.

i would have like to go during Wimbledon months but December is open as far as 2 wks job n school vacation.  Interested in culture vibe so i guess that works anytime of yr.  where can i find chick like appleby sister?

we saw rates for 2 weeks for apt a bit cheaper than hotels.

clubbing?  i'm not a drinker anymore so pubs...

Any of the main hotels in Covent Garden are decent places to stay - that's where I always stay whenever I'm in London.
