Instead of a tool box, they would be lugging a cooler full of 8lbs of chicken and rice.

and if they fell, they'd land on one of the 30 erect penises below belonging to schmoes trying to get a glimpse of an "upskirt" shot .

they use the cables in case they pass out for ten minutes from the brutal intensity of it all.  This occurs in many sports.

More like an oxygen tank.

My family and most of  my people have been doing this shit for 100 years, after about 50 feet it don't make a lick of difference as long as you got something to hold onto. Safety cables just make it more tiring, which is your biggest cause of death.

DAMN! I got vertigo, the sweats, and that tingling sensation in my feets watching that shit.

What is the pay-scale for that job and why the hell is it necessary to go up there in the first place.

Do they free fall down or have to go down that same damn ladder?

I used to climb the highest trees on the west coast but I always had a limb or two to halt my fall no further than five feet below me.

Why not use a helicopter? Damn those working conditions are bad, it's not designed so that a man can go up there and have a good space to do work on. The narrator said the you can see 55 miles into the horizon from there, but I believe it's much more than that.

HEY!

What is the medical term for that feeling you get in the bottom of your feet when you see stuff like this and the photo of those steelworkers having lunch?

When I stand on high buildings I get an unacceptable urge to jump so I don't stand on high buildings any more.

Is there an official name for that urge to jump too?

Could it have been possible that we are descendants from some form of flying reptile?

And for some reason I also always want to live by the ocean and go swimming no matter how cold it is. Is it possible that we were once deep sea living creatures?

And how come my dogs always go around in circles before lying down? And always hump the next door neighbor when she stops by for a cup of sugar?

Did anyone learn this stuff in school?

I had a higher education with a side of Quantum Mechanics, so I did not learn this kind of stuff.

And an active duty grunt would have to kill ya if I told ya stuff I think I know.

I think it only takes a penny a few hundred feet to achieve it maximum velocity because it's so light.

If I was offered 10 million dollars if I didn't that, I honestly don't know if I could.

Even knowing I would never have to work again, and all the security that goes with it, it might still be impossible.

I'm just astonished at the fact that they're free climbing. There has got to be a good belay system out there that doesn't weigh you down. A good invention would be something similar to the design of a grigri that runs along a steel cable that easily follows the climbers and locks off whenever they happen to fall.

When you think about it, people often climb up to 50 feet and over with no safety gear. That height already would be lethal if the climber fell down. Of course there are more risks here, like the wind, the tower swaying, and the small handles to grip but otherwise the height isn't anymore deadly than alot smaller one.

Yes that's true, but you also take into account the fatigue that sets in after a while. Try climbing anything for more than a couple of minutes, you'll be spent. Also a huge risk factor there is all the transitioning they do between ladders etc.

U do have a point.....dead IS dead.

What's crazy is how there doesn't seem to be like a planned way by the designers for parts of the climb.  The part where he was transitioning to the smaller handles there was a section to get around with angled bars that the climber grabbed a couple different ways b4 deciding to move on.  You'd think that the design would incorporate better grips and more places to hook safely

In the early 80's I worked at Chevron refinery in El Segundo, CA.  I was a carpenter.  Which was weird cause we really didn't work with much wood.  We built the scaffolding for welders and everyone else when they needed to work on something esepcially after an explolsion or shutdown.  We were the first people in there cause no body could work without the scaffolding.  It was the same as used on the Staue of Liberty.  Really good and strong.  Our primary tool was a rachet wrench to tighten the clips for the pipes.  Well we used to free climb up to 250' is about the highest.  And that is scary as hell.  We used hang over the edge and pull up 50+ lbs of clips and poles and planks.  Sometime the cranes would lift it up to the top.  I emailed a friend cause he has a photo of me and him hanging in mid air by just a waist clip for 220' up and flying around like Superman.  I am hoping he has a copy.  That was really dumb.  This guy in the video is just nuts as hell.  He is making unreal money though.  I know the higher you go as a window cleaner the more money you make.  This guy makes alot of money.
