To answer your question, this would never happen in NY because a) US government would never ban burkas or discriminate against any religon and b) US citezens would actually fight back if the muslims in the US tried to flex their muscle. What a terrible comparison. I would take treatment from a doctor of any religion as long as he was qualified. I am not against the Muslim religion (or any religion) but I am against foreign Muslims immigrating here and thinking their destiny is to take over Judeo-Christian Western nations like America. The quiet well behaved ones do it (quietly) in pure numbers and the extremist ones fly planes into our buildings.
You don't see Christian or Jewish nations trying to overpower Muslim nations today do you? (I say "today" because I'm sure you will throw the Christian Crusades at me from many centuries ago). This is an accurate picture of every Friday afternoon in several locations throughout NYC where there are mosques with a large number of Muslims that cannot fit into the mosque -- They fill the surrounding streets, facing east for a couple of hours between about 2 & 4 p.m. -- Besides this one at 42nd St & Madison Ave, there is another, even larger group, at 94th St & 3rd Ave, etc. -- Also, I presume, you are aware of the dispute over building another "high rise" Mosque a few blocks from "ground zero" -- With regard to that one, the "Imam" refuses to disclose where the $110 million dollars to build it is coming from and there is a lawsuit filed to force disclosure of that information.
This is in NYC. This is not France or the Middle East or Yemen or Kenya.
If we don't wake up soon, we are going to "politically correct" ourselves right out of our own country.

That clip is obviously biased and meant to get people all riled up and worried, as it makes no mention of instances in the opposite direction where French gov't shows actions against the practice of Islam such as this:

It's very far fetched to feel that Paris will be "Islamized" anytime soon.
Also, as a Muslim I know that spilling into the streets due to a mosque being full is not thought of as a "show of force" by 99% of the people praying, contrary to what the video claims. They are probably almost as annoyed as the non-Muslims who want to drive on those streets as they prefer praying indoors and are hoping for their mosques to get enough money to grow or build new ones to fit everybody. Also I haven't seen this sort of thing since the mosques in my city are large enough to contain almost everyone, but I would imagine what you see there is no longer than 5 minutes long and only once a week on Friday afternoon. When local mosques get near-full many Muslims actually avoid going as they dont want to spill on to the street or have trouble finding parking, a place to put shoes, etc.
The video is simply trying to show everything in the most negative light as possible.

Doctor: Saudi Family Hammered Nails Into Sri Lankan Maid

(Aug. 25) -- A 50-year-old Sri Lankan woman who worked as a maid for a large family in Saudi Arabia for five months was allegedly tortured by some of the family members hammering nails into her body, doctors said.
The woman, who flew back to Colombo, Sri Lanka, from Riyadh on Saturday night, was brought to the hospital by her concerned children Monday. X-rays showed there were 23 nails embedded in her body.
"Some of the nails were 2 inches long," Dr. Prabath Gajadeera of Kamburupitiya Base Hospital told AOL News today. "Most of the nails were embedded in her arms and legs. She didn't even realize how many were in there."
Sri Lankan housemaid L.T. Ariyawathi, left, who returned from Saudi Arabia with nails inside her body, talks to a nurse while receiving treatment at a hospital in Batticaloa on Wednesday. Ariyawathi alleged that her Saudi employer had tortured her and drove nails into her body as punishment.
Gajadeera said the woman told doctors that the Saudi family allegedly tortured her with nails and threatened her life with knives during her employment with them.
"She didn't speak their language and they didn't understand her," Gajadeera said. "But she kept saying 'Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka' and they realized she wanted to go home. So they brought her to the airport."
Gajadeera said the woman did not say anything about the nails in her body at either the airport in Saudi Arabia when she was leaving nor when she arrived at the airport in Sri Lanka. The nails were apparently not detected by airport security devices, Gajadeera said.
She told her children about her injuries after her arrival, and they took her to the hospital, he said.
The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment, who sent an envoy to the hospital to record her statement, plans to take action against the Saudi family who employed the woman and has informed the Sri Lankan Embassy in Riyadh and the Saudi Embassy in Sri Lanka, the Daily News of Sri Lanka reported today.
"The bureau will take every action to get maximum compensation from the employer for the inhumane treatment he and his family had inflicted on the maid by inserting nails in her body," said a bureau official identified as H. Batagoda.
A Sri Lankan TV network, Newsfirst Sirasa, spoke to the woman, who showed its reporter the marks from the nails on her body. She said some of the nails had been heated prior to insertion.
The woman, identified as Ariyawathi from the town of Matara, said there were many people in the Saudi household where she worked.
"I had to work continuously since I had to do the chores of all the occupants, and when I wanted to take rest due to tiredness, they inserted the nail in my body as a punishment," she told Newsfirst.

Saudi Arabia hosts more than 5.5 million foreign workers, many of them from Asian countries, and there have been reports for years that some of them are systematically mistreated with scant legal recourse.

Islamic law states that the female must be in puberty to get married, and is not allowed having sex before marriage. This is not a far stretch from the typical age of losing virginity in the west, actually in practice most Muslims lose it at a later age than "westerners."
Also the age of the Prophet's wife is debatable and not proven.

Four Christians working in Somalia to provide services to orphans have been executed by beheading by al-Qaida-linked interests who told their families that is the penalty for apostasy.
The report on the outrage comes from International Christian Concern, which said the executions took place sometime after the kidnapping of the Christians July 27, but it only discovered the tragedy recently.
The organization identified the Christian orphanage workers as Fatima Sultan, Ali Ma'ow, Sheik Mohammed Abdi and Maaddey Diil. They had been kidnapped in the coastal Somalian town of Merca, about 50 miles from Mogadishu.
According to ICC, al-Shabaab, an Islamic extremist organization, claimed responsibility and said the Christians were killed when they refused to renounce their faith in Jesus.
The ICC report said a junior al-Shabaab militant notified the families Aug. 4 the four were beheaded for apostasy. ICC said the militant described the Christians as promoters of "fitna," a Muslim term for religious discord.
The militant said the families would not even be given the bodies, "as Somalia does not have cemeteries for infidels."
The ICC quoted one eyewitness, who said, "All the four apostates were given an opportunity to return to Islam to be released but they all declined the generous offer."
The report confirmed the four Christians had been working for a local non-governmental organization that helps orphans in southern Somalia.
A Somali church leader who monitors the persecution against the Somali church described the latest beheadings as a desperate attempt to "purify" Somalia by eliminating all Christians from what the al-Qaida-linked terror group considers an Islamic republic.
But the church leader, whose identity was withheld, said such murders will only serve to launch more house churches.
ICC described al-Shabaab as "a radical Islamic organization fighting to establish an Islamic state in Somalia and enforce Wahhabi/Salafi Islam, an ultra-conservative interpretation of Islam practiced by the Taliban and al-Qaida."
The extremists already control large parts of Somalia and are trying to overthrow the internationally recognized transitional federal government of Somalia.
The Islamists last year killed half a dozen Somali Christians and just last month beheaded seven people in the town of Baidoa after accusing them of converting to Christianity, ICC said.

What a terrible comparison. I would take treatment from a doctor of any religion as long as he was qualified. I am not against the Muslim religion (or any religion) but I am against foreign Muslims immigrating here and thinking their destiny is to take over Judeo-Christian Western nations like America. The quiet well behaved ones do it (quietly) in pure numbers and the extremist ones fly planes into our buildings.

But I come from a Muslim family that is nothing like what is being posted on here... and all the people and muslim families we hung out with are nothing like what is posted on here. My wife, my mother, my mother in Law, etc. none of them wear burkas or even head scarfs, ask them how they feel about it and they will tell you its some shit.
Go to the beach with my family and you will see some of my female cousins dressed in some of the skimpiest bikinis that would put Brazil to shame (and no I dont want to get with my cousins you sick fucks - I'm just making a point)
All the women in my family have higher education degrees, like my aunts and cousins, most of them are Doctors or have Masters degrees, many of them are the dominant member in their marriage.
The point of my post is not to go against what everyone here is saying, I for one have turned away from our religion and all religions in general, and I do believe there is a very dark side to organized religion, lots of fucked up shit does exist.... but it in no way does it represent the whole of the people involved in the religion, my family members are still practicing muslims and they are nothing like some of the animals you see in this thread!
In short: Sadly, this shit you guys are posting does exist (in large quantities even), but it really doesn't represent everyone involved in the religion!

I personally know MUSLIMS that have been affected negatively by Islamic terrorism, and now there is a ZERO tolerance policy in Egypt for extremism.
For a long time back in undergrad, my name was red flagged anytime I traveled because it used to match up with a wanted terrorist, it used to delay me so much, I literally had to have a meeting with FBI reps in the airport everytime I travelled because of this, and they would look at me and go "you don't look like a terrorist" (word for word) and i would say "well, thats because i'm not, I'm just a college student", finally the federal government fixed it, and I was no longer being stopped when I travelled.... so you can bet your ass I was pissed at these Muslim extremists for fucking shit up for us muslims that don't believe in their stupid ass cause!

I remember when this was reported in the papers. It wasn't too long before 9/11 if I remember right.
It was the first time I can remember Afghanistan being mentioned in a newspaper I read. And I even remember hearing of this group called the Taliban. It's strange to think of now, because I thought that would be the last I ever heard of it and, within nine years of reading it, I was in Afghanistan because of the Taliban. (Please spare me the conspiracy crap here, I've heard all of your stupid arguments already and I am not in the mood.)
Taliban is plural for Talib. Talib means student, or more closely, seeker of knowledge. This is what my interpreter told me.
I' m not sure what you find out when you blow yourself up, but there are a lot graduates who shall forever remain silent.
And people in Afghanistan are definitely victims of the Taliban. They hate them more than the people of America do. It is their families and friends that are getting killed every day. Even driving to work in Kabul could easily get you killed. Imagine everyone you care about being in a constant state of real danger.
