Post by: James Blunt on September 23, 2010, 02:27:40 PM
I saw this dudes article somewhere else. Do people work on being weak? This was the saddest thing i've seen in a awhile "I felt a twinge in my abs" hahahahahaha.

ill be cooking up some burgers in a few.

Here's the workout in a new format.

WORKOUT A 9/19/10

Pre: Walk to gym

SQUATS
135x2x5
145x3x5
Note: Wanted to go heavier, but my legs wouldnt allow it lol

DL
-115x2x5
-125x2x5
-135x1x5
Note: Felt like i was gonna upchuck on the first two reps of 135, lower back was pulsating like mad afterwards, i thought i hurt it.

Bench
85x2x5
95x3x5
Note: As 85lbs felt heavy, i had a spotter for the 95lb sets, and i needed him for the last set to help me re-rack...he knew what he was doing when it comes for spotting b/c he didnt "help" with the lift

CGBP:
45x1x8
45x3x5
45x1x8
Note: First set i had my hands very close in (one handspan apart from eachother) didnt feel right. So for the last 4 sets i gripped just inside shoulder width.

DB Shoulder Press
-15x1x8
-17.5x2x8
-20x1x8
Note: Thought 20lbs would be too heavy, but by the time i got to it my shoulders were nicely warmed up. That might have been my problem in the past, I just went to the weight w/o using lighter weight to prep it.

BB BO Row
-40x1x8
-50x2x8
-60x1x8
Note: None

DB Hammer Curls
-12.5x1x8
-15x2x8
-17.5x1x8
Note: Super pump after this. Also, just plain hammer curls

Assisted Chins
-BW-100x2x8
-BW-85x2x8
-BW-70x1x8
Note: none

Crunches
-BWx4x25
Note: felt a twinge in the area of my left abs

I hate to admit it, but this is about where I was a few years back.  Weaker than a popcorn fart.

Even in the the far left pic I have a hard time believing that you were doing db shoulder presses with the 15's or were only benching 85-95lbs for sets of 5.  My little sister was naturally stronger than these lifts, and I'm not trying to be funny in saying that

yeah i used 20s I think... but I was only benching 100 or 110 in the beginning.  So i was a little stronger than this guy.  and yeah, my notes were meticulous as well!

On some exercises I were pretty fucking weak even if I weren't a complete twink as a teenager. And these I did when I had been training a couple of years without any thought and came back to it after a break.

-Barbell curl with only the bar: 3*10. I don't remember if I made the reps or not, but it was hard nonetheless. I had terrible endurance. Max might have been 40 kg.
-Overhead press in a Smith, 4*15 or something like that. About 30 kg.
-I could do one rep with about 10 kg in a overhead 1 hand tricep extension. Yeah I had to try what I could do for one rep.  ::)
