Title: 2010 Olympia - Thoughts on Competitors #3 and on
Post by: littleguns on September 30, 2010, 07:59:11 AM
To Bob,

Hope all is well...Now that the "olympia dust" is starting to settle......What were your thoughts on the competitor placements from #3 and on??

As an aside I am sure your wife is happy the BBing season is winding down!

Also, are there any plans to move the press conference to a larger area?  As you know the showroom is now packed and gets a little fuller every year.

In listening to the Video with Palumbo, Aceto, LT and ROmano....LT brought up a good point......all the focus was on Jay and Phil.....perhaps there should have been just as much focus on Dex and Branch?? Dex almost looked the same, always spot on, and Branch looked even harder than ever....

His point wasnt good, it was ridiculous...Of course the focus was on Jay and Phil....when it came down to Jay and Phil.  Where else would the focus be??  Good ol Lonnie...Capt. Obviouszilla

Judging by the callouts, there was just as much emphasis on the "top 4" being compared: Jay, Dex, Branch, and Phil...the judges seen a clear split with these four...followed by Dennis, Rockel, Vic, Kai.  Personally, I'm glad the judges took more time to compare...always makes the athletes feel better when they've been given a fair chance to be compared.

Branch was by far the most muscular guy on stage and in the best condition, so he had a lot going for him.  Most gave him props for bringing his waist down and I thought his rear lat spread was improved as well.  Apart from his rear double bi, it's hard to find a weakness on Branch now.  Even though he got 3rd place, I think he was closer to winning the Olympia this year than when he finished 2nd last year.

Dont miss the competition prep, only the competing....but I'm so involved, I'm sure I've had a much easier time transitioning than if I were just a spectator...

As for cash...I make more now :D

As many said on Saturday, Kai Greene should be been higher, BUT - because he was off on Friday, it didn't matter.   Kudos to Dennis Wolf for getting it right!

Do you think you can still beat these young guys out there? I figured you made more from that 8 second shot from "Dodgeball" then $$$$ from shows.  ;)

I'm sure I could beat some....but what point would it be?  I'd take a pay cut to prepare...

As for residuals....actually, I STILL get checks from a co-star role on Malcom in the Middle....funny, I was surfing channels last night and It was on again...

I got a resid check for $1.90 from Dynasty.  The paperwork they include in the envelope costs more.  It was more than 10 years after I shot the show though.  I do have resid money at SAG waiting for me to pickup though.  Eddie Desen (?) whio I did a talk show with got a resid check for $1  He was feautured in every industry publication there is because that $1 was the one-billionth dollar paid by SAG in residuals.  Kind of cool
