After reading through one of the other threads about how each party is basically the same, I am convinced more than ever that most people still don't get it. No, I'm not saying most people are dumb, almost everyone is guilty of at one point having the wool pulled over there eyes...we're all human, but come on, wake up, there is a massive difference, a huge difference!
You actually have a choice between two very different types of people when you elect those who govern and I cannot understand why people can't see this. Yes, you have democrats and republicans but you have both progressive democrats and republicans and then you have democrats and republicans who are not progressive...why can't people see this?
And as long as people continually vote for the person who has a better sounding voice, "Looks Presidential" as long as people are more concerned with what Ivy diploma those in power have, what influence their family has...as long as that is the concern over all, you will continue to elect progressives.
Progressives are groomed for politics, that's why they have an easy appeal and by the time they're in and you know what they are, it's too late. Now when they're so blatant like Obama that's a different story.
If you guys want things to get better, if you really want true positive change for America, it's simple, don't vote Progressive. Plain and simple.

.......and how it will play out because most people still don't get it. Nov. the GOP will take the House and probably the Senate. Come 2012, after 2yrs of very little getting done due to the split in government, Obama and the far-left progressives will find themselves in better position because people are still looking for that miracle politician.
That's what worries me.
I do think a lot of people are waking up, the Tea Party movement is evidence of that...the mere fact that political books, books on our founders and books on theory are the number one sellers right no says a lot. Hopefully this "Awakening" will grow and last.

If you can envision any scenario in which obama could win in 2012, people will often call that kneepadding.
it's reality. he's a point better than reagan and clinton at this point in their presidencies. all this tea party momentum will fade by 2012 and it'll be a gray and experienced obama against, well...

Well I'm definitely not knee padding. I'd be thrilled to death if he was impeached before 2012. In my opinion, there should be a standing rule and it only goes to reason, if a president does anything that is contrary to the constitution, only one thing, he should be booted...Obama has a list a mile long.
As for the main point, at this stage, all though I see the desire for truth and simply the desire for understanding to be rising among the general public, I am yet convinced that it will be lasting...I pray it will be but only time will tell. Even so, in my lifetime I've yet to see an awakening of this magnitude as we have now...pray it sticks!

Reagan's right wing policy (tax cuts) didnt take effect until afte the mid term election. Clinton went right after the mid term election. Do you think Obama will go right?

Wrong - the Tea Party is not going away. 240 - people are royally pissed off and the reasons they are pissed off will be with us for years to come.

I really hope that's the case!

LOL not at all its when you constantly shill for his policies, silver line and draw moral equivilants to ppls actions that he campaigned about being against that it becomes silver lining you dumb bastard...
answer the question do you think obama will go right after the elections?

You believe our direction would be different under McCain? ???

You believe our direction would be different under McCain? ???
the economy would probably undoubtedly be in a better position right now if mccain had won instead of obama...

McCain was/is a big government progressive, although not as progressive as Obama. I do not believe McCain wants to collapse the system and usher in a democratic-socialist government but he is still a progressive and he's not right for the country either.
People really need to get past the D & R argument because that's not what this is about...that argument is merely a distraction and if that's the argument you're stuck on, you completely missed the point of this thread.

People are only pissed off when the economy is down.
When / If it comes back and the jobs are back, people won't be so pissed anymore.
It's always that way.

I agree the problem is obama is actively hurting the economy...its coming back slowely thanks in no measure to obama and his actions are going to have long reaching consequences...
its like saying that the iraq war didnt have any bearing on the 08 elections its simply not true even though it was basically over it was still very much in the fore front of everyones mind...just like obamas actions on the economy will be for many years to come.

That may be true, but I think you're giving the American public far more credit than they deserve for the most part.
I think most people in America have short term memories... They do not think of "years" any longer.

sadly I agree with you, I still think that many many ppl will forever be turned off of obama and his rhetoric.
He has shown himself to a person who says one thing and does another, this isnt just a case of bad policies anymore its a case of credibility and obama is quickly running out of that...

In many ways I can not disagree... He has not kept the promises that he has said he would keep when elected and you certainly can't expect me to let that slide.

You see I disagree with that. Obama has done all he said he wanted to do or at least tried to do it. We knew exactly what we would get when we elected him but most didn't listen.
The health care bill, bailouts and stimulus, cap & trade, appointing a regulatory czar with unchecked power, decreasing oil production, etc...he has in his own words, time and time again said these are the types of things he wanted.
He's done exactly what he said he'd do and that's the problem.
Yes, he's lied on some things, but the big stuff, verbatim.

he has done that but at the same time he has said things that contradict this as well, he was going to turn the economy around, reach across the isle, change washington not let it change hi etc...
he is a sales man and says exactly what the person he is talking to wants to here

I guess it's how you look at it.
I think he lied about healthcare. I'd rather him have pushed for the entire thing and had to eat whatever came of it than to give me a 1/2 assed version.
He said we'd be out of Iraq and we aren't.
He said we'd bring the troops home and we haven't.
To me, personally, those are big things.... Not so much that I agree or disagree with them, but the fact that he hasn't kept his word.
-
he passed everything he promised to pass.
without a doubt, for his lib agenda, he's been a huge success. He did more in his term than any president in history, in terms of HUGE HUGE policy changes which will affect us for hundreds of years.
Arnold Jr said it right -
health care bill, bailouts and stimulus, cap & trade, appointing a regulatory czar with unchecked power, decreasing oil production
He promised it, and he did it. Everyone that calls obama a failure... well, yes, he failed to meet your conservative goals. but he was a success based upon the goals he announced ahead of time.
-

The economy is not going to come back so long as we have Obama as potus of nancy/harry running that combo. The first step to healing anything is getting rid of one or both of these dealy duo.

But for the corrupt congress and liberal white guilt by many in the dem party, none of this insanity would have ever passed.
And a success? WTF is wrong with you? The only things these crazy policies are doing is destroying the nation and you think that is an accomplishment? 240 - I really dont know where you went so off course, but it happened. Your level of blindedness on so many issues is staggering.

Here's how I see it, he is turning the economy around, he's simply not turning it around in the direction most people want. He knows exactly what he's doing...a bit of slide of hand or snake in the grass action but his actions are a perfect match to his words.
The plan, as I see it...you have a recession, a recession that continues and becomes more and more disastrous. During that time you build a system, a set of regulations, you implement a "fundamental transformation" for the system to collapse into. At this stage people become desperate and bingo, you have your socialized-democracy.
If that doesn't make Obama the most dangerous man in United States history I don't know what does.

Accordsing to 240 - this is all a major accomplishment warranting a place on Mt. Rushmore. Pathetic how people don't see the intention destruction of this nastion by this traitor and destroyer.
Every single policy this POFS is pushing is intended to collapse the system, every one of them.

As I said in another thread, it's the Weimar Republic all over again. Collapse the system, set yourself up in a position to save the day...and what do you know, now you're a hero.
For those that are unfamiliar with the Weimar Republic, this is what led to Hitler. No, I'm not comparing Hitler to Obama in the sense that he wants to eliminate a certain race of people, but the set up for total government is astoundingly similar.

But obama speaks well . . . . .. oh wait.

LOL! I didn't even think about that. Hitler had the ability to relate to the common man in his speech, to make them feel warm and fuzzy...sounds very familiar...good catch!

You believe our direction would be different under McCain? ???
obama and McCain answer to the same people, and things would have been exactly the same regardless, only difference is the face
