Does Don have competition plans? He is turning 44 this month and still looks to be over 240. It is hard to judge exactly, but he is obviously huge and taking beyond HRT doses. Does Don just have a love of bodybuilding? I figured since he already walked around as one of the biggest men on earth that it would be sort of a "been there, done that" type of thing for him, but he obviously still wants to be big, whether for personal reasons or business ones.
The pictures attached are from 2006 when he competed at the Atlantic City Pro. I could understand why Don would return to bodybuilding if there was a huge financial gain, but that is rarely the case. Even at a practical level, I would imagine it would be difficult to walk around carrying all that mass. But I guess Don just loves bodybuilding.

especially after having had kidney issues and accepted donations, now doing what brought up the illness in the 1st place all over again...

Maybe he wants to put the 'die' in Dialysis?

;D ;D ;D
-
what a genius. ::)
-
What's all this "beyond HRT" stuff? Some people train and diet because they're hooked on being a muscley bastard, not because they want money. If you want money you rarely get to follow something you love and enjoy.
-
;D ;D ;D
Seriously, his kidneys failed because of his drug usage and his sister donated one of hers to a stranger, so Don could get another from a donor in return.
And now he's taking juice again just so he can look jacked and hit a FDB in bodybuilding expos ::)

What a piece of shit

Here we go again...

Is this man related to Long Dong Brown?

The problem is, is that his body rejected the new kidney shortly after the transplant. Since that time he does dialysis 5-7 days per week. So, by him bodybuilding now he's not taking the health risk or acting with the complete disregard that is being suspected here.

Release the clones.

Don's reasoning is that he gave the kidney transplant a chance to work but it did not and he waited some time and then decided to get back into professional bodybuilding. As far as the stresses of professional bodybuilding go, I would say the diuretics would be worse than the bulking drugs, although I imagine his blood pressure would be higher at a higher body weight and that would not be good for his kidneys, or overall health for that matter.

I guess that's the thing. Personally I just think that Don had spent many years as one of the most muscular men on earth and I'm surprised he still wants to be so big.
The last three pictures attached are from 2009. I wish Don the best, and Ronnie as well for that matter, and hopefully they are at least getting regular health checkups.

looking very Nasserish in the arms.
-
maybe insecurity is a factor here...
-
What's on his left bicep?
-
Why? I will go with sever mental illness for $200 Alex

Maybe he's just stupid.

You are right to suggest this is probably a good thing for his self-esteem. A lot of fans and people in the industry were chatting with him at the expo so that would likely have a positive effect on his life.

That's true - It should be noted that Don did everything necessary to ensure the kidney transplant was successful and only returned to bodybuilding when that failed.

What most do not understand is that once you "have it" it takes very little to get it back and maintain "it". He's still big but not nearly in the condition of what he was. I've been off for almost 3 years and I can tell you right now, if I took even the therapeutic amount of hrt with a little deca (200mg deca week, 100mg test week) I would be back up to 225 with in 3-5 weeks...I'm 205 now.

That seems to be the consensus amongst the guys I know who are big. They say that it is relatively easy to maintain size, although not necessarily the conditioned size as you said. Maybe he is on minimal amounts of gear but can still be huge.

Guys looks like fucking Cleveland for Christ's sake.

don long is awesome
-
Don Long has been training for probably 20 + years. He used to be enormous, I mean enormous.I seen him at the Mr USA, when I was competing, and I was 258lbs that year, and he walking around the expo, and he looked so big I thought he was going to pop.Even at 258lbs in contest shape, next to him I felt like a stick.Don Must have been atleast 290-300lbs.He didnt look healthy, his face, and head were fuc$#% swollen. He couldnt even walk he was so swollen. His whole body looked like he was allerigic to a bee and got stung .I knew when I saw him he was going to have health problems.I never seen a Black guy with red skin, lol. That was when he was sponsored by beleive it or not "Vivarin' the caffiene pill.
He was so swlloen, he nostrils were even swollen. His head and fae where so swollne I dont know how even even got a shirt on.He definalty pushed his body to the absolute limit that year.

That is harsh - given where he's been, it shouldn't be too hard for him to build a personal training business, open a gym etc....
