Maybe he does want to repeal the 22nd amendment, I actually have a couple I'd like to repeal myself, but if that's what he wants to do, then he should have pushed for it when he had the votes in congress.

Mondale: Obama's teleprompters are 'idiot boards,' keep him from connecting with audiences

Former Vice President Walter Mondale said on CNN that President Obama relies too much on teleprompters -- which Mondale called "idiot boards" -- when speaking to the American people.
In a discussion of whether Obama projects empathy in his speeches, the 82 year-old Mondale said the president "has got to connect with the American people." When CNN host Wolf Blitzer asked why Obama has not shown more empathy, Mondale answered, "I've seen places where he's done it. The Milwaukee speech, I thought was terrific. I think some of these backyard events are terrific. But I think he -- he's very bright -- as a matter of fact, brilliant. And I think he tends to -- and he uses these idiot boards to read speeches on television and I think he loses the connection that he needs emotionally with American voters."
"You're talking about the teleprompters that he always has when he's delivering a formal speech?" Blitzer asked.
"Yes, right," Mondale said.
"And he's reading it, basically from the teleprompter," Blitzer said.
"Right."
"You don't think that works, is that what you're saying?" Blitzer asked.
"Yes," Mondale answered. "You know if you're looking at the teleprompter, you're here, you're here, you're here, and your audience is right there. And I think he needs to do more of that."

Talk to Walter Mondale - he is the one who said it. And yes it is important BTW because 2 years into office - we still dont really know who the hell we have in office.
The canned crap from the teleprompters is embarassing and very off putting to anyone with a clue. And who is writing all this gibberish? It certainly is not Obama.

No President writes their own speeches... Well, not in a long time they haven't.
The teleprompter thing doesn't bother me... Policies bother me, not delivery.
It's no different to me, than reading from index cards, which presidents have been doing for 1/2 a century.

Bush, and let me clarify for the millionth time, he made mistakes there is no doubt, made some poor decisions, true but he used to speak off the cuff all the time. He gave several "speeches" in the Rose Garden and a host of other places without using a teleprompter, he spoke to the American people several times without a teleprompter...with Bush, we knew exactly what he thought, what "He" thought.
Of course the press ridiculed him for at, like every man on earth when speaking from the heart, it's not going to sound like a speech, you'll slip up, mispronounce words, etc.
I don't care what anyone says, Bush had the ability to stir the crowd, he was the first president since Reagan that had the ability to bring forth positive American emotion...and this is a good thing. Be it with a teleprompter or not, he was good.
His speech from Ground Zero, his speech to the nation right after 9/11 and his State of the Union address after 9/11 were great!

The one from Ground Zero I know he didn't. He wasn't even supposed to speak...there were no teleprompters. Like I said, he spoke many times teleprompter and note free. But of course he wrote and had help writing some of his speeches, like State of the Union addresses.

After reading D'souzas book, i knw why obama relies on these teleprompters so much. He simply can't let the chance of his real feelings and beliefs on things be made public because he knows most people are revolted by his true beliefs.
By simply reading the "idiot board" all the time, he avoids any risk of another Gates or mosque situation occuring and blowing up in his face.

Hugo - I agree - while Bush had his issues, obama is a whole other level of disaster. After reading DSouzas book, I am thouroughly convinced of 99% of the accusations i have made about him over the past 2 years.
We have a real psycho on our hands who is dead set on getting revenge for the failures of his father in not being able to impose African socialism in Africa.

wrong the economy would undoubtedly be in better shape right now if bush was still president...
lets not forget that TARP which ppl are starting to tout as a success was under bush(even though I was against this it was a necissary evil).
no failed stimulus, NO health care bill which injects alot of uncertainty into businesses for years to come, no talk of cap/trade which again injects alot of uncertainty into buisinesses for years to come, probably would have had a finreg bill but I would hope it would have actual details rather than just the frame work with details to be laid out later...again think about how this effects buisnesses.
obama has done more to hurt the economy than he has ever done to try and help it...he put his own agenda before the well being of this country in a very very obvious and blatant way
