It depends on what the overall goal is and how obtainable and worthwhile it may be.  Also, one must weigh the pros and cons of sacrifice and determine whether it is even worth it to pursure your goal.

If you like doing something you will do it. If you don't like doing something you will avoid doing it. You procrastinate on the things that you don't like doing even if it needs to be done. These are innate traits. But they can be overcome. I know a few, very few, people who are extremely discipline and they do what needs to done regardless. Almost like a machine. For me, as I imagine for most, life is just an on going never ending battle.
