Apparently. In the documentary about Bertil Fox, the judge said that whilst he had the body he lacked the personality and that too is important and even without that information, we all know that having the best physique does not guarantee you anything.

Agreed.
Phil might have bright future ahead of him. For sure he appears to be well spoken person - that's extremely important for the sport. Not maybe as capable as Jay to be greatest ambassador of sport since Arnold but kid has potential for sure... physique wise and other abilities also.
I bet Jay has been advising Phil a lot to be future CEO of muscle 8)
Plus he took his 2nd place this year as a true champion and not like some arrogant trash. I'm sure industry respects that; sponsors, AMI and so on.
Hope him all best.

I agree. Some competetors are more suitiable to carry the Mr O title than others. Jay for example is just perfect. A great ambassador for the sport. Ronnie Coleman carried it pretty well too along with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lee Haney. I think Gunther Schlierkamph is Mr O material as well, but it would be even better if he was born in the states. Just being American gives you a great advantage and thats why people like Dennis Wolf will have more of hard time earning the title. But I dont think he has that Mr O personality anyway, and certaintly not Dexter Jackson either who took it in 08. The way he changed and started to act like Jay Cutler trying to get the crowd innvoled when he posed on stage and such just looked stupid! I dont think people favor him so much to be honest so there is no reason he should put on the act to win them over either. Dont belivie Dexter cares so much about the fans to be honest. He does have an Olympia physique though, allthough he could of been a little bigger.
But anyway, I think Phil could be a great Mr Olympia, and there is no doubt in my mind that he will take it one day either, at least after Jay retires. But I think he could take it even with Jay in the mix. Jay has the mass advantage, but if he slips up like in 07 and 08, he might have a pretty good chance to take the title away from him! But if its 09 Jay wer talking about, Id say its game over for him...

Phils arms are vastly superior as are his cuts.

I have heard that phil doesnt have much "presence". Like, he could be among a room filled with bodybuilders and he could easily get forgotten about (obviously his physique makes up for that lack of presence). Ive just heard his charisma is kinda on the low side
Obvioysly, I may have heard wrong

Arnold disagrees with his yelling and making sounds as he poses on stage.
