Does that make his statements less true?
I think not.

We don't know it could simply be his opinion

Very true, however, I'd say you have to give some credence to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
-
and why should he end his career because of dishonest people ???

You also have to question why someone did not resign at the time if he felt that strongly about it and waited 7 years until he got a book deal.
not saying its totally a crock, but I definately think he greatly exagerated the situation for the publisher.

Its called honor and credibility - something you know nothing about.

Blacken also makes a valid point.

When you get to that level in the military, it is not unlike being a politician. Will have to wait and see if anyone refutes or acknowledges his accusations

True.

If you think about it, a former chairman of the JCS saying what he said is a big deal.
Not that anyone really believes the war was based on the truth.
People can try and spin it all they want by saying it's for a book or asking why he waited. It doesn't take away from the fact the top of the top in the military just said the war was based on lies.

I haven't read his book, but the clip doesn't really say anything definitive. With a "lie" being a statement that a person knows is false when made, I didn't hear him accuse Bush or anyone else of lying. He made allegations of people pushing for war with Iraq, etc., but nothing really specific when it come to lies.

Why the fuck is this such a shocker. It`s not fucking hard to understand. The war was pushed. Sure the intention were somewhat valid, freeing people industrializing a country, that suffered from longterm oppression. Should be done more often in my opinion. However to say going their was based on lies is a no brainer.
