This is to inform you of a product recall involving:
Gaspari Nutrition Incorporated, Novedex XT®,
All lots numbers/expiration dates, UPC Code 6-46511-00655-3
The recall has been initiated because the United States Food and Drug Administration does not believe that an ingredient contained in the product (3,17-keto-etiocholetriene, aka 'ATD') meets the definition of a dietary ingredient and therefore the FDA believes the product is in violation of provisions of the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act.
The FDA believes use of this product may lead to decreased rate of bone maturation and growth, decreased sperm production, infertility, aggressive behavior, adrenal insufficiency, kidney failure, and liver dysfunction.
Gaspari Nutrition began shipping this product on January 22nd 2005.
We request that you immediately examine your inventory and quarantine this product subject to recall. In addition, if you may have further distributed this product, please try to identify your customers and notify them as soon as possible of this product recall. Notification of your customers may be enhanced by including a copy of this letter.
Please contact us by emailing service@bodybuilding.com, or calling 1-866-236-8417 to make appropriate arrangements regarding disposition of any product you have.
This recall should be carried out at all levels (e.g., distributor, wholesale, retail, and end consumer). Your assistance is appreciated and necessary to prevent potential customer adverse events.

I don't recall this type of recall (email being sent out) for MuscleTech's Hydroxycut.

Sometimes things work so good, the government doesn't like it...
Hell, San Francisco banned McDonald's Happy Meals because they think it makes kids fat.
Now, they kids are forced to eat Big Macs instead of small hamburgers... go figure

Yes, Ron, "the government" sits around monitoring which supplements "work to good", they get mad about it,and then they recall them.
It's well known that some of Gaspari's stuff pushes the envelope. It was only a matter of time before he got dinged.
Dmaa is next.
You should delete this post because it really makes you look bad and like a Gaspari shill. The McDonald's point is also pretty embarrassing.

i thought novedex was ONLY a anti-estrogen product to be used after or during the currently legal pro-hormone cycle?
so why would it be banned then if this is the case, or at least why would the pro-hormones that you would take in conjuction with novedex not be banned first?

None of the "prohormones" are legal currently and really never were. Why do you think FDA raided bb.com when none of the products they sold were explicitly "illegal", as in named in banned anabolic steroid lists? They are analogues and not really legal. If there were some hormones which are legal Muscletech would be selling them, as well as Gaspari. But they don't. Well Gaspari did sell Novedex but they thought it was such a "mild" product and wouldn't be targeted.
Novedex is a shitty product. It doesn't lower estrogen and whether it really does raise testosterone is debatable.

"Voluntary recall" = Government telling them to recall or else.
Recalls are very expensive and they hurt your brand. There is no way they did this on their own merit. They knew they were going to get knocked.

This isn't an Anti-estrogen like Nolvadex, More of an AI. It made my nipples itch like crazy..
I used it back in 2005 i think it was...It was first bought to market by DS supplements.

So, basically, it causes me to get angry, then depressed, then my kidneys fail...
Okay, FDA, I got it now, yet fast food joints can sell triple bacon and sausage biscuits...and nothing happens.
I experienced some adrenal problems after a long cycle of this crap...Can't say for certain that it was this shit and not some other supplement or steroid. It took me about 5-6 months to get back to normal.
