charles clairmont looked great in the late 80s and beginning of the 90s, look at how dry and ripped the guy is. much better than the bloated cows that are on the stage today

One of my favorites of all time. Also, the guys back then used to hold their poses long enough to display their development properly if you notice. And their transitions were poses in and of themselves. Nowadays these guys just hit each pose in rapid fire succession. Maybe they think that will help keep you from focusing on their protruding GH guts... ::)

Yes..very nice too see a sharp, lean perfectly proportioned physique before the sport got ruined with excessive GH, insulin...and the stupidest of all-synthol. No pregnant Kai Greene-like gut either. Glad this was posted. People need to be reminded of what a physique is supposed to look like.

Loved Clairmont, fantastic physique. I don't think we will ever see physiques like the 90's, Flex, Levrone, Porter Cottrell etc etc

This is when bodybuilding peaked. Conditioning was second to none and good size to match. Today's bodybuilding is a joke. I saw the nationals in Atlanta recently and it looked like a novice show.

Not to mention, how he 'feels...'

Someone who looks like that should never be beaten by the Yate's of this world.

Perfect mix of size, shape, conditioning. Better genetics than someone like Wheeler.

Title: Charles Clairemont - How did he get so much magazine attention?
Post by: denarii on January 19, 2015, 12:24:31 PM
Used to see this guy in the mags back in the day and thought he looked great. But putting him next to dorain or dillett and he just looked like a twink. How come he got so much weider magazine attention?

Already had this discussion.  Plus, he didn't get that much coverage anyway, unless he was in the contest they were covering at the time.

Everyone looked like a "twink" next to peak Dillett, everyone... Clairmonte was a phenomenal bodybuilder with awesome proportions, symmetry, aesthetic, muscle bellies and the right mass, fairly tall too... Extremely underrated...
