I'm just shocked he would let himself be filmed while appearing so fucking stupid
he ran the steroid witch hunt.
you'd think he'd be a little more informed on the subject

His aide actually ran out to Bell to ask if they culd re-shoot it,but Bell said "nope,we have what we need".
Now,imagine this, that f'n dope Blumenthol from CT wants more hearings on steroids. They never stop.

Why did you hate it

Why did you hate it
It was cheesy and a bit preechy.
I prefer movies like the one on Mark Kerr - Smashing Machine. - seemed a lot more hardcore.
-
That scene where Valentino was tearing into a piece of steak with his bare hands made me cringe. The guy's a creep.
-
i didn't understand the guys point of the movie? to cry because dumb people get mislead?
i should make a counter documentary called "dont be a dumbass, do your own research first"...
::)

No ,the movie is to show how wicked and evil the government is to ban them in the first place and how utterly out of their league they are when it comes to steroids.

It was perfect. I loved the movie.. I dont do steroids but i say if we are going to ban something and have congressional hearings and all that shit, there better be a good damn reason for banning it.
So i liked the fact that the movie showed that the "fears" related to steroids are fuckin bogus. And dude couldnt made a real hard core movie because i wouldnt crossover to the idiots who already have their minds made up about it.
Like i said, i dont do steroids, not because some kind of moral shit, i just 1) Never felt the need to do so (not a pro bodybuilder) 2) Never Been approached with the. And 3. If shit dont work i like to go back to the store for a refund.
Same with Weed.. I dont smoke, not because of an immoral feeling, i just dont like coughing, But i dont like teh fact that it is illegal for you to smoke in your own home and its based off junk science. And the justifications for anti weed can be applied to booze

I thought he did a good job of covering the whole steroid issue, the hypocrisy of the laws, how it affected his family, etc...
all in all I thought it was a pretty well done and there are quite a few deleted scenes and outakes on the web

Agreed on all points.
I thought it he did a good job. I would've liked to have seen more said about the 1990 and 2004 Steroid Control Acts passed by congress. In 1990 congress took their proposed bill to the AMA, FDA, Dept of Health and DEA and all 4 organizations opposed the ban, congress, including the author of the bill, Joe Biden, ignored the recommendations of all 4 groups.
All-in-all a good piece of work. Bell did a good job IMO of keeping bias out and simply presenting facts...something most documentaries on any subject rarely find themselves capable of doing.

The mother was a joke.

The mother was a joke.
?
she looks nothing like my mother but why was she a joke
one of the things I liked about this flick (why I thought it is a well structured movie) is because of the family story layed over the larger theme

She just seemed oblivious.

She just seemed oblivious.
part of the flick was the fact that the parents were concurently unaware/oblivious, in shock, and yet cheered on the "results"
-
She just seemed oblivious.
Of course she did, most people are...this family represented the mindset of just about every American out there when it comes to PED's.
