Have u watched him train in the past?  In NEw, Improved And Beyond, he Does 4 plates a shortly after getting off a plane from a guest posing.  His grip in this video is wider than I've seen him use on a video in quite some time, makes all the difference in the world....  that was at least 6 years ago. :-\

Why is the guy who is video tapping so out of breath? Did he run a marathon or something? A lot of acting going on in that little scene

Plus that's when Jay has probably ate more poorly than usual, slept in hotels, trained less than usual, travelled constantly etc...

Bullshit...just look at the plate's handgrip = different colors ( blue, yellow ).

Different colors = different weight.

The blues are 20 kg, so is the bar, and the yellows are 33lbs/15 kg. So he's pressing 330 lbs.

I don't think it's 405 either but I wouldn't be surprised if Jay could do it anyway, well maybe not for 12 reps but a guy his size could easily do 405 on incline.

Dorian did 405 on incline in the Blood and Guts video but I think it was only for 8 reps.

Well obviously its still 'strong' . How many other people in gyms do you see doing this with good form and slow-ish reps? Hes not failing either. So id say yeah pretty strong :)

He suffers from the same obsessive-compulsive disorder every BB does, he couldn't even do anything else. Cutler is lucky enough to make good money from his OCD, but if he wouldn't he would still do exactly the same.

3 days without the strict, compulsive daily routine he's forced himself into over the last decades (training, meals, tanning, showering, brushing teeth, massage,...) and that guy would shoot a bullet in his head.

Exactly.  The fridge is textbook OCD.  If he ever quits bodybuilding he'll go fcking insane without his little daily routines.

yeah it's true... well, every fucking sportsman suffers from it also but I guess bodybuilders has it in extreme levels because this sport is drived by the mirror.

I have the same problem, but not in these mesures.

I don't understand why bodybuilders (especially the pros) stop using what many would deem full range exercise.
I understand not going into lockout, but he stops about 2-3 inches short of lockout.
He does however do a good job of at least getting a decent stretch in the muscle by going down to just above his chest.

you gotta train day in day out and its your job - lockout is shit when it comes to your joints and those are what get you by day to day

you be 250+ for a yr or 2 longer and see how you joints feels plus all the gh makin your tendons swell its fckn hurts - blood volume training is real big too and thats what alot of these cats do - I mean all they wnat do to at this time is pump, it doesnt take a full rep to do that -- matter of fact you get burnt out faster doing full reps - cept on squats ;)

Levrone struggels to complete the 3rd rep with 5 plates, Coleman does 5 reps without even going to failure.

I'd say Ronnie was at failure on the fifth rep.  Also, KL had a much larger ROM.  Both strong mofos

Yeah, that benchp definitely wasn't Ronnie's first exercise. It always amazes me how barely anyone point this fact out when talking about strength of pros we see in their videos. They are doing a lot of exercises so numbers can't be so mind-boggling than they would be if they just concentrated on one exercise...

the clip of 495 on flat bench is his first excercise of his "cost of redemption" video.

4 plates on incline.

I read the youtude viewer comments say that it is 396lbs-----4 x 44lb (20kg) plates
3 yellow 1 blue each side.

that's just 330 lbs.

I think it's safe to say he's going easy on "the supplements"

what the fuck are you on about NEWB!

That dumbell bench press was from the year 2001, when he was much lighter on contest shape, and the cost of redemption was from 2003-2004 when he did the barbell bench press and on offseason,

and in both videos they were his first excrecise, the 200lbs dumbel bench press and the 500lbs flat bench press with a barbell, both as first excercise.

How is it that nobody remembers this, it's like 1st grade math, you oughta remember these legends, even if you don't like bodybuilding, like my self.

405lbs

that s not strong for a 300 pound guy at all

He's training smart. He's not bouncing or throwing, he's controlling the weight a 100 % at any point of the movement, as opposed to many other pros.

That's probably why he's on top and injury free. Noone pays him a $ to put on another 50 pds on the bar.

time that = you didn't do it yourself
the only time kai did 500 was in md univerese fantasy land where it's written he benched 405 or 500 in his teens
