Title: Compelling tv dramas
Post by: badlad on November 20, 2010, 10:59:44 PM
Been ill lately...so need a little me time.
Just finished watching the Sopranos beginning to end and have The Wire to start next week.
Any suggestions for any other really great TV shows in the same vein - quality stuff of course.
Ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.

I downloaded every series of 24 over the last few days - I expect to be watching them for a long time to come (if they're any good that is).

LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) – Molly Parker, who played Alma Garret on the popular but short-lived HBO Western “Deadwood,” has joined the cast of NBC’s adaptation of John Grisham’s “The Firm,” NBC said Friday.

HBO Subscribers Can Watch Every Episode of “Deadwood” Online Now

Parker will play Abby McDeere, wife of attorney Mitchell McDeere (who’ll be played by “The Lincoln Lawyer” star Josh Lucas).

“Abby’s a true partner to Mitch — a smart, resourceful woman who after a tumultuous decade is excited to start a new life in Washington, D.C., as a school teacher,” NBC said of the character.

Juliette Lewis and Callum Keith Rennie will also star in the series, which picks up 10 years after the 1993 Tom Cruise movie left off. Production for the series begins next month in Toronto.

Parker also had a starring run on the 2008 series “Swingtown,” as well as a recurring role in the 2010 series “Shattered,” which starred her new “Firm” castmate Rennie.
