Isn't GenX now 40-50 years old really?  Media just kept using the term well past it's sell by date because it sounded cool and they couldn't think of a better buzzword.

I'm 48, at the tail end of the baby boomers. According to a lot of sources, the baby boom was from 1946-1964. There is some disagreement on this though.

They make the age range too broad.  I'm 37 and no way I'm from the same generation as someone who is either 55 or 19.  As fast as the world changes now, I say 5 years to have enough shared experience to be considered a generation, 10 at most.  Then there's cultural differences.  These labels are pretty much specific to North America.  It never made much sense to me.
