if volume works then 1 hour cardio and 1 hour weights a day should produce gains
and 2 hours of each should produce more
cory everson said something like that in her book
she claimed olympics people train 5 hours a day
and she herself trained for was it 3 I think?
basically saying you just build up to an insane amount of volume

Some Olympic powerlifting teams train up to ten times per day! Volume does work, however there is a fine line of overtraining that you need to walk. Not everybody is the same, Personally speaking.. Volume works great. The more the better really. But only if I make sure to stay far away from failure on every set.
But..
In the end, you've got to try it for yourself and find out what happens. I know that's not what you wanted to hear but it's the truth.

Read this article, it will help a lot. I don't know if volume is really what your looking for rather then reps.

Dude, you keep going back and forth with this volume vs. HIT thing, like you have haven't tried either.
Try one. Don't dig it, try the other. Figure your shit out already.
-
For muscle-building purposes, volume works better than HIT from my experience but to get the best results I think the two shold be cycled, if only for variety's sake.
-
The intensity within the volume is key for me.

the middle road tends to work for everyone unsurprisingly....

I agree....something in between or a mix of those 2 training methods..

IMHO, build a foundation with volume before you try HIT. you need strong connective tissue before you all out effort and pop something.
-
A properly programmed and scheduled volume program will beat HIT any day.

Same shit...
another day.
