Sapp should shoot for a double leg, then ground and pound for a TKO or submit him. Like when mma novice Kimbo Slice submitted Ray Mercer in 1min12sec

Sapp just had a K-1 fight where he pussied out bigtime. I can't find the link yet though.

Heavyweight is different, once you get over 200lb the advantages filter out.

Hoost is overrated, he got beat by a novice brawler twice.

Why you keep going on about clinching in boxing when in mma you can sit on your opponent for the entire fight, god only knows.

I'm not really sure Swede, how big is the talent pool for kickboxing? I'm pretty ignorant of the domestic scene in holland to be honest. But it isn't really a major discipline in comparison to other combat sports.

I think he is overrated, not terrible, but k-1 is a small playground and Hoost is/was a pretty terrible fighter save a few attributes.

I meant Sapp, not Hoost, with the bad comment. ::)

Yeah i know Holland is the main place for kickboxing. Just that the kickboxing discipline is a pretty small sport all things considered, which has to be factored in.

No shit. Yes some Boxers are brawlers. Foreman's a brawler, your style is reflective of your attributes in general. That's not to say that he didn't have skill, his skills were conducive to his style, cutting off the ring, punch selection, timing, distance, pressure. Sapp doesn't have any attributes apart from very uneducated pressure, he is an amateur. The fact that Hoost lost to him twice is bad.

So foreman is a worse boxer then everyone that doesn't brawl because brawling isn't a skill as che said?

he won over hoost due to pressure and MASSIVE weight advantage and knowing a little bit at least = not completly worthless at the time.

remove his weight and he wouldnt stand a chance though

Ok, Im gonna sum it up and then Im done with the sapp issue. Sapp "sucks" but hes done way better then your average 350pounder would. so there has to be some sort of skill somewhere lol.

Brawling isn't a skill. Drunks in the street can brawl. It's a style that's ceiling is based upon the talent/attributes of the fighter.

Sapp has very uneducated pressure and weight and nothing else. It was k-1 so the weight is very much less of a factor.

The fact that Hoost had trouble with someone like Sapp, who was just bullrushing, raises questions.

well if sapp rushes you you're goign to have trouble. even if you cover up me might ko you with those crazy ass haymakers (which is what happened basically) and there isn't really anything you can do but to cover up at the moment..

...and then he gasses

lol @ a redneck named "Huerta"  he Could have landed a lucky shot though, as sapp did against hoost lol, and the other dude would still have been a faar better boxer.

sapp didnt really get lucky though he just punched through the cover up, Im gonna see if I can find the fights
Title: Re: Bob Sapp V David Tua MMA?

he should have kept circle/legkicking and sapp would have went down. besides that there wasn't really anything he could do lol. well he did btu sapp just pushed him into the fucking corner lol

and a 370pound juiced up monster throwing haymakers somethings gonna hurt

Sapp knows some mma, so 99% he would take Tua down and win. And Tua has a punchers chance until that point. imo.
