thats the thing that bothers me about this series. they just lump everything together and say 'it must have been aliens' instead of the obvious answer - civilization has been around far longer than currently accepted and the further back you go, the less that is known about it.
aliens didnt do all this or pass down knowledge - is was simply inherited from earlier civilizations.

haha yes i liked that quote. whats really crazy is how they pointed out that much of the basic technology we still use TODAY was developed by the germans during the 3rd reich. the germans were behind the jet engine, rocket science, they were already using ROV's in combat, they were developing a stealth bomber, nuclear technology, the freeway/interstate system, thats just off the top of my head

The pilgrams/hugenots etc, flocked to America to start new ideas, based on their understanding of the bibel and their religion, this is part of protestant culture, and is a continual part.

250 years in cultural terms isn't long that's my fucking point christ, modern cultures have developed over the last 5-10k years, we still can find remnants of proto indoeuropean in our modern language 5000 years after it split from the main group.
It's complicated as I said I ain't writing no book about it, there's load out there, it's complicated, but england was part of it obviously, but it had alot to do with cultural developments going on in the netherlands/germany.

In most times in history, goverments only go to far when there left no other choice, it's either total dominance or total defeat, if britian and america had stayed out of european conflict, it's likely germany would of stayed to it's sphere of influence and waited a while to consolidate dominance in the direct region, of course it would of taking much of the british empire along with it, but it wouldn't have to mean control of britian/usa.

There also love to leave out that Italian's and USSR would of came into conflict with germany, just as easily, as they would attack america. The soviet union would of still went to war with germany, and regardless of who won, three mega power would of torn themselves apart, or burned out within a decade.
