They'd be the favorites going into a SB this year, unlike the last time.

If the Jets don't win the SB this year they might as well move the team. They've gone all in, and if they fail, it will be the most epic failure in their 4 decades of fails.

just to play devils advocate, lets say a couple years from now they aquire a legit pass rusher and mark sanchez has blossomed in to a star and is in his prime, they could do damage.

I think the the window for this team is 3-4 years minimum.

Losing Leonard is disastrous for the Jets. Great player and the leader on the defense. The injury will definitely weaken the Jets' secondary to some degree.

He was great for the Ravens in 2008, he was one of the main reasons the Ravens made the AFC championship game as a #6 seed that year. I would have loved to have kept him instead of Dawan Landry. But Landry was cheaper and Leonard was looking for a big free agent contract.

Aside from the fact that they have a ton of high priced fa's who are older and who need to be resigned after this season.

Throw out the last game between the Jets and Patriots.

This is the playoffs so expect a different game between these two. I'm expecting the Jets to make a game of it because let's face it...the Patriots pass defense is less than stellar. They ranked 25th in the NFL. That's not so great.

Braylon Edwards was a monster against the Colts. If he and Holmes can get open on the outside and stretch the field, the Jets can make a game of it. Now the Jets have Cromartie returning kicks and he can be a huge difference, too.

Patriots 24- Jets -13.

KC played them tough the first half. Baltimore is just too polished to be that careless with the ball. You can get away with that stuff against the rest of the AFC west, but not in the playoffs against a team that talented.

The Chiefs were not ready for prime time and it showed. Just physically dominated on both sides of the ball. The Ravens laying -3 for the game was a gambler's wet dream.

I agree that this game will be much closer. A week 11 game(with the playoffs and the division on the line) is certainly relevant to a playoff matchup, imo.

The Patriots defense has played extremely well over the second half of the season.  Yes, they give up a lot of yards, but they turn the ball over a ton, and they don’t give up a lot of points. While the Pat’s rank low in pass defense (they give up a lot of yards) they lead the league in int’s and as mentioned, they don’t give up a lot of points/big plays. Devin MCourty is a legit shutdown corner, the safeties are very good, and Arrington is at worst an average NFL cb.  The Jets don’t win games on the pass, and that’s why they got blown out the last time they played. They win games when they use their running game, and stick to their bread & butter ground and pound and play action.

The Jets need to establish the running game early, work off the play action, and pressure Brady with a four man rush.  They also need to hope the patriots break their trend and turn it over a couple times. I see the jets losing this game for several reasons. They can’t and have not rushed the passer consistently, the patriots threats out the backfield can neutralize the blitz, Cromartie was beat like a drum by Branch and has trouble with smaller wr’s….Welker and Woodhead can motion Revis out of plays, and if the Pats get up on them by a few scores, they can’t work of their ground game, and Sanchez has shown to melt in this situation. I still don’t see how the jets will stop gronc and hernandez. And on the flipside, Keller can exploit the middle of the field against the Pats. He’s the key guy…him and the running game. believe it or not, the pats running game is almost as good as the jets.

The Jets fans can't claim with a straight face that this season was a success. Their head coach has been saying they'd win the superbowl since the preseason. They've talked about how much more talented they are....how they wouldn't be denied, superbowl or bust! Me thinks the NY media is going to ask Rex Ryan and the Jets players why they didn't deliver on their promise.

It was all or nothing this year. Low draft picks, big contracts and this list of free agents for 2011:

Shaun Ellis
Brodney Pool
Tony Richardson
Braylon Edwards
David Harris
Nick Folk
Antonio Cromartie
Santonio Holmes
Eric Smith
Brad Smith ]
Steve Weatherford

As a Patriots fan, I'm probably one of the only ones who wants to see Big Ben get another ring. But only because I think it will light a fire under Brady/Bills ass. Because if truth be told, the Packers have a Quarterback who has the talent to reel off a half dozen super bowl wins before its all said and done. He has more talent than Brady and Peyton put together.  He's a cross between Montana and Young.

I'm going to have to disagree with this. There is really no comparison between Rodgers and Brady/Manninig at this point in time. Wins, stats, titles, you name it.

Clearly the Steelers have another one "in the bag".
