jayson werth took major dollars from the nationals and said it wasn't about the money, yeah right go from a contender to a cellar dweller. 7 year contract. boston offered 4 years.

Horrible contract for both Werth and the Nationals. Werth won't see year four of this contract.

Bad signing years 6 and 7 but honestly Washington thought the Red Sox were going to get him and they thought they needed to make a statement. I still think they could have gotten him for 5 or tops 6 years.

They had to pay him a crazy amount to go to DC. They are a terrible team with no fanbase..maybe in a few years if Harper is a stud and Stasburg recovers.

according to today's news cliff lee might soon be a national. apparently obama gave the team a bailout.

Those rumors started yesterday and were already proven incorrect.  Not saying they won't bid in the future, but Lee's agent is taking offers right now.
