It was minus 11 when I left the house for work this morning - the coldest I've ever experienced it in England - I could feel my eyeballs starting to freeze up if I didn't blink - it was weird!

Most getbiggers keep 2 to 5 attractive females in close proximity at all times in order to keep hands warm.

Yes because sometimes the A/C in their jets is set too low.

Yep sounds like Raynauds... my Internal Med is a lil rusty, but it can be found by itself (called simply Raynauds Disease) or in a bunch of autoimmune Rheumatologic conditions like CREST syndrome... do you have any other symptoms like joint pain, difficulty swallowing, rashes? Etc
As for the pathophys- im pretty sure its just overactive sympathetic response to cold... you have significant vasoconstriction/vasospasm of blood supply in the distal digits which leads to some transient tissue hypoxia (which is why you see a color change)
By itself, I believe it’s a pretty benign condition… I wouldn’t sweat it.

yes i have other symptoms too. my mouth gets a bit numb and its difficult to talk right.

I have something called Raynauds (self-diagnosed). Don't turn red or purple but my hands (fingers) in places turn white/yellow when exposed to cold...I get it on my toes and knees as well. They go numb where the discoloration is. I guess there are 2 kinds of Raynauds and I have "the good one" that goes away when you warm up.
When I was a kid I would get hives when I got cold...I guess I still do..had one a couple weeks ago.
Please start moisturizing daily.

Hmm interesting.. how long as this been going on for? How old are you?
If you are particularly bothered by this, I would have your primary care doc refer you to a Rheumatologist...

If it's extremely cold out, it is perfectly normal. Any tissue that is exposed to temperatures below freezing will very well turn blue..
If it happens very frequently even without the presence of cold weather, say when you are highly stressed, then it could very well be Raynaud's.

lol... Id go get looked at if you are bothered by your symptoms... but the fact that you are 22, and have had this "problem" since your teens would lead me to believe it's nothing too serious... reason being, if it was? You'd probably know it by now.
