Gordon Solie was hammered most of the time on the air.
Professional booze-bag if there was ever one.
Wrestling was all about drinking, drugging, and ring rats (sluts) back in the day.
Not sure if its still like that (besides all the "pain killer/steroid combo" deaths).
The stars have planes taking them everywhere these days, back then they'd drive 400 miles between show, smoke dope, pound beers & whiskey. (Good Old Days). :D

Gordon Solie was a legend! That man could be in the middle of the most ridiculous, absurd and comical situations and he would comment on it like you were watching a real genuine sporting event. I loved Gordon.
-
jim neidhart just got arrested stealing oxy's and methadone. still looks huge in the mugshot.

Tony Atlas is a legend in my apartment for two reasons:
1) he has a NOTORIOUS foot fetish
2) he talks like a legit house negro

Heard that foot fetish helped ruin his career, it was like a drug. He would skip matches, fly home to have his girl walk on him with tennis shoes?? WTF ?

He used to marry all the ring rats that all the other Rasslers used to bang.
Big issues there as well. Spent every dime he ever made as well. (Was making 100K per year back in 1978, which was outstanding).

I had dreams of becoming a pro wrestler as a kid.
I had multiple gimmicks (Sal knows of one, which was awesome).
I was asked to be in a tuxedo fashion show back in high school (for our local proms), and the music I selected was Ric Flair's entrance music. The girl who was my partner didn't know what to do when I got to the end of the runway and did a "Wooooo!!!!" for the crowd.
I was the only kid who got straight A's for my entire scholastic career who would want to talk rasslin'. One of my greatest moments of my early life was watching the WWF at the Spectrum in 1983. Bob Backlund wrestled the Iron Shiek, and Backlund had Hulk Hogan as his manager. The Shiek began to cheat, Hogan took off his huge cowboy boot and beat the head of the Shiek until he was bleeding all over the place.
I talked about it so much the next day I got detention.
