LAS VEGAS — Las Vegas police are looking for an armed casino bandit who escaped on a motorcycle with perhaps $2 million worth of gambling chips from the posh Bellagio hotel-casino.
Police Lt. Clinton Nichols told The Associated Press the robbery happened quickly.
He says the bandit wore a full-face motorcycle helmet as he displayed a gun in a casino pit area then demanded chips and sped away on Flamingo Road on a black sport-style motorcycle.
Detectives are reviewing video and camera images of the robbery that occurred just before 4 a.m. Tuesday at the Las Vegas Strip resort.
No shots were fired and no one was injured.

Now there's a pleasant thought! ;D Are you suggesting that the miles of manpipe passing through onlymen's butthole is more than the mileage on his bike? :o
-
that was an inside job
-
That's pretty amazing.
Pulling off the robbery is amazing enough. Then making a successful getaway on a motorcycle is unbelievable.
Excellent thief.

No im saying the amount of methane coming out of onlyme's ass on a daily basis is 10 fold the co2 emissions of that bike.

Stealing chips!? It will be interesting to see the remedy for this kind of thieft. You would think that they would immediately lock up the casino and cash in all the chips that were the same denomination as those that were stolen and then declare all the same colored, uncashed chips as worthless.
I believe that there is some law or regulation about removing chips over a certain value fron a casino or not cashing them in over a certain time period.
Onlyme may know for sure about that and speak on the facts.
But if those chips no longer have any value, they could possibly become collector's items and thereby increase in value many times over
Gonna be interesting to follow this one.
And as far as finding him dead in the desert ..... that was the old remedy and is a rarity nowadays.

The chips had a chip in them ;)

Calvin, you could be correct but I'm in a casino five times a week (at least!) and this is the first time I've heard about a chip inside a chip.
I'll ask if that is a fact today.
If they do place chips inside of chips today, I would assume that those chips would only be inside the $100+ chips due to the expense of having them produced.
But with all due respect, I think you are mistaken.
If I'm wrong I'll send ya an unautographed copy of Scarface.
-
Anyone who thinks this dude didn't just drop these chips of at someone and got paid/shot right away is a dummy imo.

Do you realize the cost of the chips? It's not cheap.
They change dice... Not chips.
Chips get recycled... Plus, chips are as good as cash. Many people take chips home with them and come back later and cash them in.
He is gonna get away scott free if he didn't have any accomplices and doesn't tell ANYONE what he did.
If he talks to anyone about it, then he'll get caught.

Chips with big money value have chips inside them according to what I read online.

It will take him eleventeen thousand years to cash the chips in that slowly as to not cash in so many to get noticed.plus the Bellagio might just change their chips so he cant cash them in.

So that anyone else on earth who has Bellagio chips can't cash them in either?
Don't think so.

actually stunt, it's true for some casinos, especially in the higher denomination chips. Which is in the not so bigger casinos the "eye in the sky" keeps close tabs on them.
I was at one of the casinos last night and asked a former worker if it was true, he said yes. He went to a seminar out in Vegas on the new technology of cheating dice and said some casinos out there have implemented this.
Like I said, this was probably an inside job.
Two of the biggest robberies in the CT casinos were conducted by former security employees. I was working, 2 men started a fire in the "show area" of the casino theater, right during "drop" time. For those that don't know, drop time is when they collect money from the slot bases and place new cash drop boxes on the tables and pull the ones from the previous gaming day. So they knew surveillance, most of security and State Police would respond to the fire. THen boom, since only ONE security officer was left to pull the drop boxes from the high roller area, these two clowns reach into the trolley (houses the boxes) and grabbed 4 boxes. But the one thing the idiots didnt do is wear gloves. Two investigators bolted to the trolley and said dont touch a thing until CSP arrives. I think the dumbasses forgot when they got their gaming licenses they get fingerprinted and were caught in 2 days.

Back from 92-98 they only cost about 50 cents to make

Ok I see your point but tell me how he's gonna cash all those high value chips in ???
-

Truly he'll most likely sell them to someone who is a known high roller for 1/2 the value.
-
There is no shortage of "Crossroaders" in Las Vegas who would buy those chips.
I'm guessing/hoping the chips are blacks, purples and yellows aka $100, $500 & $1,000 chips. Those would be easy to cash in and attract very little notice. If they are $5,000, $10,000 or $25,000 chips it will be a bit harder to cash them in but still very doable.
There are 100's of poker players who have $1,000's of dollars worth of chips in their Belagio Safe deposit boxes located in the poker room. Those guys could easily put those chips into play without getting noticed.
Casino chips are very very rarely replaced. The only time casino chips lose their value is after a casino closes down and goes out of business. Even then players have several months to cash in their old chips. Many casinos put "Specialty chips" in circulation all the time, to promote a big show or event that is happening at their casino, but of course all other previously issued chips still retain their value.
Micro-chipped chips aka RFID (radio frequency identification) chips are rare in Vegas. A few casinos tried them a few years ago but they were mostly pulled out of circulation. The Belagio never used them to my knowledge.
Edit- I now read/hear that on it's high denomination chips the Belagio does use RFID chips.

I think Wiggs is off the hook- Suspect is described as "... 5' 10" tall, 220 pounds and white..."
Although perhaps the cops should arrest him and beat him just on general principle.

I always thought it would be easier to counterfeit a casino chip than it would be to counterfeit dollar bills... DISCUSS.
PS I doubt there are "chips inside chips"... saw one in half and check!
