Duck is awesome...
It's noticeably greasy and fatty compared to other meats, but when prepared right, it's fantastic and definitely worth the prep time and few extra dollars!

Not everyone has a taste for it.
I'd recommend going to a decent restaurant that makes it well, order it, and determine if you like it before trying a DIY.

depends if it's domestic or imported duck. Domestic is far less greasy IMO

My mom makes deviled eggs...love them!  Other than that I don't think we'll have any appetizers.  Very simple this year.

I think it's too late (for me) to consider deviled eggs.  The eggs need to be old(er) to work well.  :(

I love poached pears ... and I agree with the smell of liver cooking .. but I let the onions cook first so it's not so bad  :)

I got hummus the other day .. I'm hooked ... sushi may be next .. but the nearest place is more than an hour away and with all the snow now .. unh uh .. I stay close to home  :-\

HUMMUS kicks ass, years ago I hated it, but had it at a restaraunt on 23rd st in NYC and ever since then. Up until a year ago HATED sushi and would only eat california rolls, but I tried it at a yummy restaraunt in NYC and now, forget it. I can just eat all the time.

I never liked liverwurst, but ya know what. I will try it. How is it best to have on a sammich (without cheese of course)

Sushi is on my to try list for sure ... I was pleased with hummus .. ( it took me months to try it ).. I'm looking forward to trying a bunch of different types of sushi at once

Liverwurst is usually on rye with red onion and mustard .. ( which is good ) .. but I like it better on toasted whole wheat with real thin sliced sweet white onion and mayo

You keep a real strict diet ... I don't even try very hard with that .. so I'm not sure but maybe there's a lot of sodium into it ... check first beforehand .. I get it sliced from the deli dept. so just giving it a try with one or 2 slices should be better than buying a package in case you hate it  :)

You can't really go wrong no matter what you do.  Just be careful not to add too much liquid.  Start out by draining the garbanzos and adding back some after the other liquids (lemon juice, olive oil, etc.) to get your desired consistency.
