Word Lens translates text from the iPhones camera in real time. Simply point the camera at any text, such as a street sign and the app will instantly translate the words for you on the fly. Word Lens doesn’t have to have an internet connection to perform this magic, however, instead it handles all of the processing on the iPhone itself.
Technology really is amazing.
within a year, we will probably have an app for voice communication that does translations on the fly...(speak " your native language" and translate to "any language" in a HAL 9000 voice. ;D

I bet this app wasnt even that hard to do..
All that needed was pretty much live letter recognition, everything else already exists. And face recognition already exists also so they just modified that probably and then just instant translate
and yes the instant speaking translation is probably whats next

if they manage to make face recognition instant, I dint see how it would take 2 extra years to much something as simple as letter recognition..

Soon the iPhone will be on verizon's network. Then and only then will it formiddable. LTE is fucking unbelievable and verizon is years ahead of the comp on 4G rollout

At school in my IT in organizations class they showed us a gadget that is just on prototype level but soon to be mass produced, it was 100x better than any gadget I've seen, it will make this app seem like something from the 80s.
Could be dangerous for hoes to have one of these. 8)
