It's strange how you're hearing gets trained on music - ask me 8 years ago I would have thought all death/black/trash metal but especially death metal
I would have said that it sounds shit and that you cannot understand a word because its grunting - 8 years later and I am still listen to mainly death metal.
Discovered a new band which is fucking awesome - Panzerchrist
-
Uggghhhh I do but not by choice my kids loves that stuff hahahaha!!!!

Kids (no disrepect to yours of course mostly listen to the garbage.
But there are 100 of very very good but unknown bands from poland and other - i mean listen to the song I posted.
Its great - agressive - dark and poetic.
The problem is that some bands that "make it" get spoiled by the success and money, the greatest bands (oddly enough) are the once
that make a living but are constantly touring
Vader is great
Hate is fucking ace just to post two from Poland.
Than listen to this - very good as well
A gathering summoned by the Elder
A consequence of what's imminent
A prophecy dark and foreboding
Forces the to face human intent
The chosen seek refuge in the mountains
Reluctantly the loved ones recognize
The sacrifice they must adhere to
The only hope for future Setian life
Like a martyr sacrificed
Await the days of Clouding
Earth Mother's sharing in our pain
Erase the human memory
They know not of where they came
And though our hearts are broken
We have to wipe the tears away
In vain they did not suffer
Ten thousand strong will seize the day
What we possess, mankind is after
Direct descendants of the Architect
Children of God, seeds of creation
Stakes so high we must never relent
We lie in wait 'til the human minds are clouded
Initiation of the Master Plan
Assimilate, build new life among them
Centuries will pass, patience will win
We are the bane of man
Await the days of Clouding
Earth Mother's sharing in our pain
Erase the human memory
They know not of where they came
And though our hearts are broken
We have to wipe the tears away
In vain they did not suffer
Ten thousand strong will seize the day

Never could do the newer type of metal, old man I guess. I listen to Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, AC/DC etc.

I'd be upset too if I lived in Poland

ANYTHING from Panzerchrist is awesome - I mean Metal Church is not their song but a cover version, I just wanted to proove a point that
death metal can be poetic and critical as well.
Listen to it and read the lyrics its poetry
Many, many years ago on a distant shore
Men did gather secretly beyond a hidden door
They travelled long and travelled far
Darkness through the night
Yes, this is the place they've chosen
To build another site
Congregation rises, starts to chant a hymn
Of evil, lust and hatred, the roots of every sin
The priest he stands before them, tells them why they are this way
Why they worship metal gods each and every day
By the hand of Oberon, dark into the deep
Love the evil things we do, the secrets that we keep
Metal church, unholy, can't you be the sacrifice
Metal church, the only, don't you know the time is right
Metal church will find you, comes from very far
Metal church inside you, knows just who you are
No use in speaking out against anything we do
Now the story starts again, all the time is lost
Metal Church begins to do....
Watch the souls become lost
Metal church, unholy, can't you be the sacrifice
Metal church, the only, don't you know the time is right
Metal church will find you, comes from very far
Metal church inside you, knows just who you are
The metal church!

death metal is not new has been around for ages - granted not as we have it right now - but don't make a mistake to think good death metal is shitbands like
slipknot and other poser bands.
Good stuff is Nile - Debauchery (who made the only notable coverversion of Angle of Death from slayer - and that song should actually not be touched since its
pretty much a sacrilege, but again Debauchery made it to my opinion even better AND hahah they are from my hometown)
-
Whilst I am now into symphonic metal, my love for metal started with melodic death metal, in particular IN FLAMES. Fucking awesome music.

LMAO i can imagine you listening to some death metal, sitting there on a bench doing preacher curls in some colorful spandex outfit, getting yourself "angry" with the music and proceeding to bust out reps with the 15lb dumbell. your so hardcore newmom ;D
-
this is the closest i get to metal
oh and marylin manson too

I love Death Metal, I gravitate towards the tech stuff these days. My all time favs are Bolt Thrower, Entombed, Cryptopsy, Suffocation, and Dismember. Fav black metal band is Dissection. Last album was fucking awful.

I used to.
Once in a while I listen to Death(Spiritual Healing or something).
Other than that the constant growls are unnerving and get boring.
Cool music for youngsters.

Music tastes are very unique to the individual and tough to jugde.
I never got into much of the hard rock or dark side rock music myself.
Talking about death and blood to a rock beat with someone screaming, always sounded kinda odd or creepy to me.
I sincerely do enjoy hearing abouy why people like stuff I don't however.
I know some here will roast me, but I would enjoy reaing why some like this kind of music.
Thanks
