What keeps you going to do what you do? Is it the love you what you do? The money? both? How do you stay motivated once you're financially well off? Or does the thirst for power or money become greater once you have a bit of it?

for me it just comes down to making it a habit....and not being able to do nothing.....and my work is addicting..

I paid 50k in taxes last year, am I well off??

at 100k for example you pay 40k taxes
this doesnt include capital gains 35% or sales taxes 10% in state of CA
so I probably paid 65k realistically

The thing that drives everyone is power, and the continual acquisition of it.
People who have more money than they know what to do with will often obsessively keep pursuing things that seem strange to others. For example someone who made a lot of money running their business will, instead of retiring and playing golf on a tropical island or whatever, continue risking it all and trying to build their business even bigger and better because it's a challenge and continually, successfully meeting that challenge is satisfying as it leads to more and more power.

What drives me?
1. I love what I do.
2. Providing for my family so they won't do without.
3. I love what I do, its a passion. Everyday I think how can I make my athletes better, I love reading about new research about training, nutrition.
Oh, I guess I could have lower expectations of myself like being a bartender on a ship for $10hr, but I grew out of that about 20 years ago.

I apologize. I thought in a thread earlier this year when we were talking about taxes, you were pretty pissed and said you had just written a 30k check or something close to that for taxes....Either way you're doing really well and I admire that about you...no homo.
