My guess is yes. When the body is repairing itself, id imagine it working harder than usual

I read somewhere that the process of muscle repair and growth is metabolically expensive, it takes calories to do so. So my guess is yes.

When your body is sore like that it heats up, right?

Well...

A "calorie" is a measure of heat, if you get my drift.

When the body is sore, it needs protein to recover, so taking extra protein would maybe be beneficial up to a point, but I wouldn't say that the body would necessarily want to burn more calories, especailly if you're sitting on your butt doing nothing but trying to recover. Calories from any other source (carbs, fat) would just be stored by the body as fat if they're not needed - why would the body want to take in calories from all macronutrient sources just because it's sore?

So my answer would be, take in extra protein to help you recover, but keep the carbs and fats the same.
