The Descent
Session 9
[Rec]
Jacob's Ladder
-
Also, The Strangers.
-
Session 9 was just plain spooky and scarier than the others in that list. Rec wasn't too bad either.
Have to add 'The Fourth kind', 'The exorcism of Emily Rose', 'The others' and 'The ring' (Hollywood version) to that list.
-
yeah i remember seeing the descent at the movies. The storyline was somewhat predictable, but as a claustrophobic lol i remember being short of breath at times.

Have you seen it's sequel (part II)? Not as good as the first.

No haven't seen the sequel yet. Might go rent some dvd's tomorrow, might add that one to the list. Feel free to make any suggestions/recommendations.

Agree with all but "Fourth Kind." Tried, but I just couldn't get through it.
I actually think "Paranormal Activity" is probably the creepiest - only one that ever really made my heart pound. But I loved "Blair Witch" too, so what do I know.

French New Wave horror.
Get involved. Makes this american garbage look like camp theater
dowload "Martyrs" or "Inside"
The tension is through the roof. And they're gritty and real.
something like the descent just doesn't compare. Just miles apart. True horror buffs would agree.
-
I urge everyone to give any of the above movies a try.
If your idea of modern horror is The hills have eyes remake or the hostel or Saw series, then you're really missing out.
the above movies have a real palpable sense of terror and tension. There's nothing like watching a truely terrifying horror.
You literally will be on the edge of your seat and will keep looking behind you during these movies. Intense.
Watch alone in the dark and tell me you don't feel at list a spine tingle.
Start with Martyrs or Inside.

I've heard of both, but am yet to see them. Saw 'The Brøken' from the horrorfest, which was good to a certain point, but had a lame ending.
You got any other recommendations? Something supernatural would be great.

I remember seeing Phantasm when I was young and being scared shitless.
-
Not a horror fan but out of all those listed thus far I've only seen the TV versions of The Ring (I think ..is that the one w/the video?) and Descent which was really really scary to me! :-[

Agree, PA is probably the creepiest of the lot. Haven't seen the 2nd one yet.
'The skeleton key', 'Dead silence', 'Event horizon', Phantoms and 'The Grudge' are all worth a watch too, if you like your horrors.
-
'Event horizon'
