The Titans are morons if they fire Fisher. He's a damn good coach, the owner should grow a sack and get rid of the headcase QB. Good move by NY to keep Coughlin.

True dat! If Coughlin was gonna go Fisher would have been the only guy I would have wanted to coach the Gmen.
none of the rest out there would have been an improvement.

My theory is that there is so much parity (supposedly) in the NFL, it's easier to keep a mediocre coach like Del Rio or Kubiak, for example, let his contract run out so you don't have to pay 2 guys, then move on if you're not where you need to be. Opposed to, firing a guy who went 7-9, install a whole new system, way of doing things, coaching staff, when it might only get you another game or two in the standings which you might get anyway just because of the way the league is. All that goes out the window if you can get a Gruden or Cower, though.

I could see some teams really going for Chucky or Cowher but they are no better then Coughlin thats why I'm glad he stayed.

Sad to see Singletary go in SF, but it had to happen.  He had two QBs yell at him on the sideline, in front of the cameras.  He lost control of the team.

I think missing the playoffs was what they needed. You can't suck for 2 1/2 months every year and expect to play in January. I don't know what it is with them, they have a top 5 qb, and other great players. Schottenheimer(sp) couldn't get them over the hump either.

I actually thought they would be dangerous in the playoffs.

i agree.  I was hoping not making the playoffs would send him packing.  I think they need a really old-school coach. Marty was getting up in years and Norv is just more of a QB coach.  The single biggest thing I think they need is some REAL veteran leadership of proven winners.  Guys who can share what its like to excel instead of always coming up short.  Just give them a confidence boost when they need it.  Right now, they don't have one guy on the roster who can say he's really accomplished anything in regards to winning.

Lewis is out.. one year too late

Del Rio has done the best he can with no money from owners.. safe

Kubiak (sp) has been fucked by bad draft choices

Wonder who will coach Denver. who cares

I heard Cable is out in oak.. Very dumbass move by Al if it happens

Tomlin is good   ;D

Fisher, yeah thats a toss up

Fox is out. Cower wants that job i think.

I think Frazier is a good coach, they just need some qb stability. I think they will go after McNabb. Lewis is overrated IMO, how he got a pass on that mess in Cincy, I'll never know.

I agree with most of this, aside from Kubiac. Poor drafts are on his watch, and frankly, they've had some pretty nice choices:

Mario Williams
Demeco Ryans
Andre Johnson
Adrian Foster
Brian Cushing
Connor Barwin

He's a guy who will always be just good enough to keep his job, but never good enough to win a title, imo.

Shocked that Cable was let go but I think they want Hue Jackson as the top guy. It looks as if Al Davis is slowly taking himself out of personeel decisions.

The Raiders are finally headed in the right direction, and they let him go? At least he brought stability to the organizaton. I'm shocked Cincy brought back Lewis. He's as much to blame for that mess as anyone.

I don't know, dude. I guess Cinci has monster issues from the owner on down. The owner won't give Lewis the propoer personal budgets and autonomy to build a consistant winner.

He MIGHT work out, but there is a much better chance of failure.

Oh brother, 49ers.

Luck staying at Stanford, too. Losing his head coach, 4 of his 5 starting OL and probably $40+ million. Not the smartest.

They were the best of the jobs, not that that's saying much haha. I thought he was going to stay with Luck for one year, and wait while better jobs might come up after next year, but it's hard to pass on 25 mil.

If the rookie salery cap goes into effect next year (by all accounts it will) it will be a fixed amount anyway.

I don't know dude, Miami has a better team and was offering 8 mill a year, I think. He couldnt run the whole show, though.

Yeah, it's most likely going to happen. And they're saying he's going to end up losing $40-50 million with the new cap. I'll be surprised if Stanford is a .500 team this year. And the last few QBs that passed on being top 10 picks to come back for another year have all suffered. Locker, Bradford, etc.
