I rememver being in london and then watching "the bank job" and ofc recognizing alot of the places, and that was a funny feeling.
But maby because Im not used to it? how is it for you?

Most anytime a movie is filmed in NYC I recognize places I've been.couple places in Hawaii too.
-
It's more of a feeling for Los Angelenos,...Like when you are driving on the Hollywood Freeway or the Simi Freeway...But it happens for Houstonians too when they see "Terms of Enderment", "Evening Star", "The Thief Who Came to Dinner"(the duplex I rented was just down the street from where they shot "Evening Star", the film company parked their trucks for literally a mile in each direction from the block they shot in.)
-
have to cost a SHITLOAD to shoot in NYC? blocking sections of etc... any price ideas?
-
america is a big place... i don't even recognize any of "sleepless in seattle" lol!

I know a lot of cities like Boston, Toronto, Vancouver etc.. give big tax breaks to film companies, so they "stand in" for another city, if that makes sense.

not in my home town, but the city where i go to school.
i go to modesto junior college, in modesto, ca. the hometown of george lucas (director of star wars). his famous movie "american graffiti" is based in modesto.
the pixar movie "monsters vs. aliens" was based in part in modesto, showing areas of the city that i see on a weekly basis.
oscar award nominee Jeremy Renner, co-star in ben affleck's "the town", went to modesto j.cj (my school) in the mid 90's and we got lots of pics of him around campus, especially in our huge new theatre/ampietheatre building that lucas donated millions towards building.
and of course anytime i go to san francisco i see so many places that have been in so many movies.

I'm not really sure lol. I know that it makes it cheaper to film in whatever state offers the incentives. They get part of the money back on whatever they spend.

wow that is really coll info bro
anything else you may want to contribute on this presssing subject?
PS- Do you own a bobsled?

46 inch wow
that means that it occupies all your field of vision- like you are there in the screen world- imagine when these new 3D screens come out
you will really be able to live at home all the time. I hear that in 3D screens you can actually eat, shit and piss on the screen- so no need to go anywhere
On the other hand there is the long forgotten bobsled from your childhood. remember when u used to have flesh and blood friends that were not in the 46 inch screen
that was frightning maybe. Were you bullied?
dont worry u are a big boy now. Go out and for god sakes dont take the fucking screen with you
