As expected, HBK is the first inductee to the HOF this year. He has had a stellar career and he deserves it.

Supposedly the entire "Click" will be there.....an old grey haired / grey bearded Kevin Nash who thinks he's "new generation", a drugged up celebrity status wannabe Sean Waltman & a very drunk Scott Hall....

I would like it to be Nash, if it's not HHH, to be honest. I hope Jake gets in finally, now that he is supposedly clean. I think the Road Warriors should be the headliners, so next year.(The fact they aren't in already is a joke.)

Arn Anderson, Lex Luger, Ron Simmons, Dean Malenko, Madusa and The Honky Tonk Man have all been talked about for this year’s WWE Hall of Fame in Atlanta, GA. It should be noted that HTM turned down a HOF offer last year because he had a prior commitment that paid better according to him.

According to another source, Vince McMahon wants to induct former WCW rival Ted Turner but many feel Turner won’t accept the offer.

WWE officials are also planning to make a push for Sting to join the WWE Hall of Fame but many expect him to sign with TNA for another year. Steve Borden (Sting) is very well off and has made it very clear that he wants nothing to do with the WWE.

Goldberg’s name has also come up for a HOF induction and possible WrestleMania match but talks have failed thus far.

Lol...actually Honky is very big and very well respected on the Indy scene. Especially for fullfilling commitments....unlike the idiot Warrior who won't sign an autograph for a kid unless he gets 3.6 mill.

I met HTM at Comic Con last year with my kids, and he couldn't have been nicer to us.  He was just in the aisle as we were looking at a booth, and I almost ran into him when I turned around.  I told him how much my kids, who had only just started to watch wrestling, loved his matches from his feud with Savage when HTM was IC champ, and he was almost shy about thanking us.  Definitely elevated him in my eyes.

The only names currently being ‘heavily discussed’ for induction into this year’s WWE Hall of Fame class are The Fabulous Freebirds, which most notably consisted of Michael Hayes, Terry Gordy and Buddy Roberts.

Jake would be an emotional pick.

Dude hurt a lot of people, himself the most. I wish him peace.

No HBK yet. Make the shit suffer. Dude is lucky the other wrestlers didn't off him and stuff his body in a dumpster. Good wrestler though. My Dad loves him.

The WWE Hall of Fame ceremony is scheduled to air on Monday April 4 in the hour leading up to Raw beginning at 7:00 p.m. CT. The network is slated to have a four-hour block with the Hall of Fame ceremony, Raw, and the debut of the new version of Tough Enough airing that night.

Well, as you saw at the Rumble, Nash got the Grecian formula hook-up and is back as Diesel.

I'm hoping Honky Tonk Man gets in? How do you not have the "greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time" in the hall (worse yet, you have him induct Koko B. Ware two years back)?

What's with the retread matches? Can't they find some new matches for 'Taker.

He beat Kane twice; he beat Michaels twice. Now, he's going to beat Helmsley again!

From all the talks right now they might make HBK the special guest referee. Here is a small HBK recent interview:

Shawn ‘HBK’ Michaels recently spoke about his love of hunting, his retirement, the odds of him returning to the ring and more. Check out the highlights below:

On when he picked up his love of hunting: “I was told I was never going to wrestle again. A guy asked me if I wanted to go on a hunt. I always wanted to do it but I didn’t know anybody. It was the genesis of what turned my life around. I had my first encounter with God inside of a deer blind. Just sitting there waking up with the animals and looking at the stars. I was not in a great place in my life at that time. I started thinking there has to be more to life than this. Hunting was the start of that for me. It changed my life all for the better. My connection with the Lord grew immensely from that point on.”

On his retirement: “I was ready to go. I wouldn’t have agreed to do that if I wasn’t ready to go. It is a wonderful job, but you can only climb the mountain so many times. I wanted to raise my kids. My kids are still young, and I didn’t want to miss that.”

On whether he would return to the ring: “I’m not going to wrestle again. The only way a 185-pound guy made it in that business is to do something nobody else ever did. The best thing I can do is to stay retired, because nobody ever stays retired. I’ll still be part of the company. You never really get out of the WWE unless you’re wearing concrete shoes at the bottom of the Hudson River, but no more active wrestling.”

Outside WWE, the only thing memorable about Koko was his being half of a tag-team, whose gimmick was being Michael Jackson wannabes (the PYTs), in Florida Championship Wrestling. They actually came to the ring, using Jackson's song, "PYT"; they had the red "Thriller" jackets and the silver gloves, with Jheri-curl juice, dripping to and from the ring.

They can't induct Damian the snake because Jake forgot to feed it while touring in Europe and the snake starved to death. Animal rights activists went nuts after this incident and Jake pretty much left England where he was "drying out" and came back to the States.

Honestly, without researching it, I have no idea.  Bam Bam seemed to always be kinda hopping around, so I would guess money or maybe he was just one of those guys who wanted to do his own thing.  He was such a freak athletically, should have had a bigger career.

Japan really was a better fit for both of them, monster heels were way over during that time....especially US heels.  Heck, maybe he was smart enough to know that he would eventually get fed to Hogan, jobbed into oblivion and then comeback as a crossing-guard gimmick or something...

WCW...out of business; ECW....bought out by WWE; now, on the shelf indefinitely.

Terry Taylor did his best work outside WWE, too. But, what gimmick has famously/infamously stuck with him TO THIS DAY?

Now that you mentioned it, I just remember that, before his loss to LT at WrestleMania, he was jobbing to Doink the Clown in the early 90s. The "New Generation" era was not kind to old Bammer.

Bam Bam was not in charge of ECW or WCW management.
The financial problems/failures of those companies is not in any way indicative of Bam Bam’s talent as a wrestler.
WCW also had Flair. Is he, too, to blame for WCW going out of business?
Your connection is non-sequitur.

Showstopper & Playboy suggest that Bam Bam’s best work came after he left the Fed, so the fact that he jobbed to the clown before that is a moot point.
Everyone starts somewhere.

As for Terry Taylor, yes - his best work was outside of McMahon-land.
He’s stuck with the gimmick of a giant cock because his exposure in WWF reached the most widespread audience.
It still does not change the fact that his best “work” was outside the Fed, and wrestling historians/observers will always acknowledge this.

All great points and I just thought that maybe Mcway had an oversight stating that "Bam Bam went downhill" when in fact his career AFTER the WWF was far, far better....

That's like saying a guy who spent a few years in the NFL did his best work in Arena Football.

Plus, Bam Bam's start wasn't feuding with Doink the Clown. He was already quite established in the 80s. For example, he was part of Hulk Hogan's team at the first Survivor Series and in the WWF Championship tournament at WrestleMania IV. How do you go from that to getting clowned (literally)?

I never denied that. But, having his best work in wrestling organizations that no longer exists doesn't help the situation, especially when, at the sound of his name, the first thing that comes to mind is....CHICKEN!!!!

Thanks.

I once had an uncle who would disagree with points everyone else made in a conversation.
It literally did not matter what stance a person or group took on any subject matter; it was as if he was genetically programmed to automatically take the exact opposite side.
He was a good guy and we loved him, but the family was conditioned to half-heartedly roll their eyes & take what he said with a grain of salt.

I don't have a problem if they put celebrities in it because let's face it, it's not an actual HOF but the only time I remember him was in a Royal Rumble for like a minute. You could put Trump, Mr.T, Cyndi Lauper in but they all must be on bad terms.

I had a cousin like that. I also knocked him out and left him laying in the backyard for several hours. People like that are flat out annoying. Just like a buzzard or a mosquito on a hot summer night. They buzz around....buzz around and sooner or later you get a fly swatter and SMACK!

I agree that Chyna should be inducted based on her past industry accomplishments.
However, given her current state (an absolute mess) I doubt the old man will want any type of affiliation with her.
I would also expect Queen Stephanie to veto any such proposal involving her hubby-King's "ex."

She was bulking before that, brother.
The first time I saw her backstage at an indy show, I only recognized her after seeing Chris & Shane, too.

She was still pretty; just very different...no makeup, no tan, hair not done up, baggy sweats, etc.
Not rude, but not warm or talkative either - except with the old ECW crew.

If the HOF induction is tonight? Why isn't it broadcast until Monday? We know HHH has been living in Shawns shadow the majority of his career. And his match at Mania would be weak if HBK wasn't involved. But whats gonna happen here? HBK is gonna cost HHH the match. Then the next night we're gonna watch HHH induct him into the HOF? Any thoughts on this?

Ha-ha...good point!

This was a great weekend. Tonight has been a great night of Wrestling as well. The HOF, RAW, and now Tough Enough with 3:16. Timmy was a complete goosebump when they showed the high light real of Michaels career. DX was cool. But that was just a small part of HBKs career. Too much HHH. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much HHH. They are not in the same league. I'm years tired of seeing him hump Shawns leg! I wish HHH would man up and admit it. Since HHH is always in Shawns spotlight. You know what he should have finally admitted tonight? THAT THERE WOULD BE NO HHH WITHOUT THE HEART BREAK KID SHAWN MICHAELS! I thought is was great that they showed that Janetty clip getting thrown through the window. HBK HOF. Arguably the best ever. Enough HHH already.

Has to be the worst entrance music in the history of the show.

Helmsley's resume is far more extensive: More World titles, became champion faster than Michaels did, He's been in more main-events at WrestleManias and he's WON more matches at 'Mania.

How does Michaels call himself "Mr. WrestleMania", when he's only won a third of his matches?

Yes, Michaels bought Helmsley to the spotlight. But, the Game has run with that spotlight. They're both great superstars, but I like Michaels' matches against Undertaker better.

Its not about "wins". Its about performance. In the end its just a storyline. Michaels delivered left, right and centre when it came to performance.

But Triple H has made a hardcore impact and ALL KINDS of $$$ in the WWE between 1999-2007 when he started slowing down a bit.

But, masterful performances ending in REPEATED LOSSES defeats the point somewhat. Michaels has been involved in "Match of the Year" multiple times. But, most of the time, he's been on the losing end: Razor, Diesel, Benoit, Angle, 'Taker (twice).

He was pretty young when he was up against Diesel. He was so good in that match they had to turn him face the next night. The latter matches, no one cared about him winning or losing. He was at the point in his carrer much like Flair or Taker that nothing that he does diminishes his crediblity in the eyes of the fans. HHH was right is his promo, Shawn didn't care about winning, he cared about having the best match at the show.

I believe that RAW used to average 7-9 in the Nielsen's during the "Attitude Era."
But, you've got to factor in & compare it to what WWE programming usually draws these days, and that, I do not know.

My gripe with the Nielsen ratings is that it's only a representative sampling of audience/demographic.
The modems that track that info are only connected to TV's in a very small number of homes compared to the number of homes that actually have a TV.
Statistically, the sample audience is supposed to be an accurate/balanced representation of all viewers, but I question its reliability.

If you only use 25,000 trackers, but 99% of households (about 115 million) have a television, that gives a sample comprising less than 0.1% of viewers.
I simply think that is too small of a sample size to evenly represent ALL viewers.
JMO.
