Title: Where's Sheamus?
Post by: littleguns on January 10, 2011, 06:03:50 PM
Guy wins King of the Ring and of late seems to be getting buried....

No one. You gotta take the good with the bad. If creative says you need to lose, then you lose. Either way he is getting his paycheck.

I'm a big fan of his. He's a two time champ and he's been on the main roster less than two years. Just because you aren't in the main event every week, doesn't mean you buried. He'll be back in the spotlight once HHH comes back, winning KOR is still a big deal.

I agree with you. I am expecting HHH to return as an entrant at the RR eliminating Sheamus and thus cultimating in a big match at WM.

He's been booked very well IMO. He's "retired" Jamie Noble and HHH. Beat Cena and Orton in title matches, won the KOTR...I don't know what else they can do. I hope HHH comes back at RR, I have always been a big fan of his.

HHH was always one of my favorite wrestlers. Best wrestler 2000-2002 IMO.

There was no one better in wrestling than him from 2000 until he tore his quad, but it doesn't matter because he married Stephanie, according to the internet and every scrub that never did anything with the company.

I have to add that also, he's made Morrison look great in this feud...like a true main event guy.

The only people that say that are the ones who are not truly fans of the business. Anyone who has been watching WWE product faithfully will know that he was already an established star and two time world champion wrestling main event matches / hell in the cells, etc PRIOR to his hook up with the chief's daughter.

I'm expecting them to make something of the King Sheamus vs The King of Kings when HHH finally comes back.  I hope he can stay fit as well.

It will be a WM match for sure.

I'm hoping to see him as a surprise entrant at RR.

It didn't help William Regal or Mabel/Viscera/Big Daddy V. It CAN be a big deal, if you use it right.

That's what I think is going to happen. They will both be eliminated cultimating to a brawl on the floor leading to a huge build up for WM. That's what I think will happen. Of course things may change.

Didn't WWE already try that with the HHH/King Booker feud a few years ago?

I think so?  I'll just be glad to see HHH back on TV, they're a bit short on real main eventers at the moment, too many have gone in the past year.

The "surprise" thing is getting a bit stale. Last year it was Edge; two years ago, it was Cena. I don't think Helmsley should appear at the Rumble. Maybe at "No Way Out/Elimination Chamber".

I think he should return, but there is no way that he should actually win it. Have Sheamus eliminate a bunch of scrubs so that he's in the ring alone, have HHH come out, do his big return, and have them eliminate each other and brawl to the back.

HHH's return update...

There’s nothing medically preventing Triple H from returning to the ring at this point as he is fully healed from surgery on his torn bicep muscle. Rather, his return is being strategically planned so that it makes the most impact (Royal Rumble/WrestleMania). Is anyone surprised by that?! Don’t be. He is advertised to face King Sheamus in a New York City Streetfight at WWE’s Mar. 19 RAW live event at Madison Square Garden.

They had RVD a couple of years ago now.  I don't mind the 'surprises' as it is actually a surprise for a lot of the fans and for those of us who read the rumours, it makes us tune in to see if it actually happens.

I still think he pissed someone off. You've all pointed out 2x champ, wins KOR and hasnt won a match since. He did a great job of escalating Morrison, yes....but he is not like Orton, Cena or HHH where they can loose for weeks and still be top notch.

I wonder if WWE will ever turn Cena and shock the world like Hogan did with NWO.....I feel he is getting stale

It's one of the few things they've got left to do with him.  They finally got most of the crowd onside with the Nexus angle, so the heel turn should be the next step.

And upset the kiddies that love him and shift tonnes of overpriced merchandise off the shelves?

It would work if the guys loved him but I remember the boos this guy got even carrying the big title until recently. He hasn't won the grown up lifelong fans of wrestling by a long shot.

A heel turn could backfire badly.

But it's wrestling. He may carry it off and stale is poison.

I remember him as a gangly dude coming out at the Kurt Angle challenge. He had momentum to a point and then everyone seemed to hate him.

We'll see I guess. I don't mind him but he doesn't rivet me in front of the tv each week to see him.

Sheamus has been very absent and I wondered if he was injured.

They'll never make Cena heel. Too much merchandise sales and public appearances at stake. He serves better as a face. They should turn Orton heel as it suits him wayyyyyy better.

I never said they will, only that they should!

Right now is probably the best he'll ever get when it comes to majority of the crowd onside, and he seems to have been given a level of freedom on the mic that not many enjoy.  They can either stick with that, until it becomes stale and the pops get less and less, or they have to evolve the character and take it somewhere.  Are the merchandise sales worth more than the ratings surge that a Cena heel-turn would draw?  Who knows, but I'd like to see it.

He was a pretty good heel when he was doing the "gangsta rap" style but right now I think that the crowd is way to into him especially the kids. Then again Hogan made it work but then again Cena is no Hogan.
