as an expert on 1920's prohibition-era chicago gangsters, i immediately found fault with that clip when it presented John Dillinger as a '1920's' criminal...when in fact he was active in the 1930's...completely different eras

Well, he started in 1924, at the age of 21 with holding up a local grocery store...So I guess he was active in the 20's and 30s...

he didnt get famous/become relevant until the 1930's in the Depression era.

quite true...but the police work---or should I say the detention of Dillinger was atrocious.

there was widespread public sympathy for him and his work...at the time, banks were despised for what they truly were...unlike THIS depression era, when they have excellent PR campaigns to defend their institutions and way of life (exploitation of the population)

Well, when everybody lost their money--- the logic is the banks were, are, supposed to have money....I gather it wasn't until he shot a cop then the sympathy died down...
