I would, but Lonnie Teper owns the patent...

Will someone's weight on the day of the contest (or the day before) influence what you think of his physique or will it matter?
-
I'd actually like to see weigh ins, even if it was done immediately after the event.
-
I would love to see it!
I think we'd see some very different #s.

I don't think it would matter in the slightest in respect of their placing but it would be good for the armchair fan as it would help them relate to the "athletes" a bit more. Just a few extra facts and figures to add to the occasion I think would be harmless.
-
It would be interesting to see their REAL bodyweights.

Of course it would Ron, Why do you think they lie about their heights and weights? Because they know it will influence certain people.
-
I think it would be pretty interesting also. What about taking measurements? Would like to know if their 22 inch bicep claims are factual. Remember those old contests that they used to check a contestants teeth? lol
STAY POSITIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good point - bicep, thigh, and especially waist measurements would be interesting to see.

Actually...you probably wouldn't as Lonnie thought the same thing and started doing a weigh in at the Ironman Pro a few years back...almost all the weights were within a lb. or two of the athletes estimate

A weigh in is a great idea. Would love to know the truth.
-
Would it matter? No.
Would it be interesting and a nice addition? YES.

AT THE MR UNIVERSE back in arnolds day the measured arm, chest, theis, calves, neck, forarms, waist b4 the contest
i remember they showed the tape around arnolds chest at 58, arms 21 1/2,waist 32, quad 28,calves 20
and franco chest 50, arm 19 dont remember the rest of his
mike katz was chest 58, arms 21
point is they did everyone back then rite in front of the cameras
i gota admit its hard to believe alot more of these guys now days really dont have 22 and 23 inch arms after seein those old pics

I think it's something that would make the press conference worth attending. No offense to Bob or the athletes but it's the same thing every year with little to no excitement. The fans react when a guy gives a preview. Gustavo, Freeman and Marcus had no problem showing anything but you never see Jay, Dex, etc.
I know the competitors don't want to weigh in because their bodies change dramatically from hour to hour. Most would be flat and look nothing like what they will the following day, while others would look great at weigh-in and not so good at the show. Which is exactly why there SHOULD be a weigh-in where all weigh in their posing suits. Look at how many fans attend to see UFC fighters step on the scale. THOUSANDS.
It would certainly draw bigger crowds and more interest from fans however I don't see the competitors ever wanting to do it.

bob chick could be on the mic at the gay games:

As the 202's have shown us, a weigh-in is misrepresentative of the actual weight on stage. A better idea is to follow the press conference with some bodybuilding. How about 202 pre-judging right there in the Orleans Showroom after the press conference? Much better venue than the expo hall.

The athletes were fully clothed. That's anywhere from 3-8lbs depending on what they're wearing. Nevermind carrying something in their pockets.

Really???
What about Dexter Jackson that claim to be 235 on stage!
I am sure that he would weight no more than 210 at 5'6' height since Arnold was 235 at 1975 Olympia at almost 6'2' height. ;)

that was diff time,, in the 60s and part of 70s they did not use gh on regular basis only the tip pf the tops had experienced and to great degree it wasnt around to be able to purchase in any form,,
but rest assure fellas,,and this go to all my pupils,,the video you see from the 80s is already most bodybuilder on gh,,this is the way it is in bodybuild
the first and most importento thihgn is the CONSISTANT usage of gh ,,that does not mean 25 days,,it means consistant,,gradually increasing ,,but most imporetenly consistant usage of legit gh ,,
only then is when anabolic streroids come into play,,
the fellas then used little less testosterona ,,no not 250mg ,,jus tless than 3 grams a week lol,, and used more of anabolic gh combo,,thi sis the only way a bodybuilder can presensnt top phsyiqe,,if not he will remain either amatur ,,but even the amatuer use gh on a regular basis its just that their life i more hectic usualy and lot more disturbances,,and ofcourse genetic respond is not as good ,,,
but! most important for you freidns to understand is that this specific skin muscle look is only achivable by the use of growth hormone,,you can pull it with out only if VERY VERY young and high natural gh like arnie back when he was 20...then you may pull it out for few years,,
as you can tlel most bodybuilder are way past 20,,or 24,,,they go 28 30 34 36 ,,,they all on gh ,,all on consistant gh,,,then they did nto use much insulin if at all,,they just used GH good old gh,,,and steroids,,
gh15 approved

I'd like to see them do blood work a couple hours before they go onstage to find out what their Testosterone levels are and their IGF levels are. It would be interesting to see if there is a noticable difference between size and conditioning based on if some were using alot more than others.
