Original Molly Hatchet are the Tuffest band that have ever lived.
I know there are a bunch of Young Guns here, who dont know who they are.
BUT, just have a look at the voice of Southern Rock - Danny Joe Brown (RIP).
Dave Hlubek on Guitar will also kick your ASS!!
Rock 'em Duane!
-
Anybody messin' with the Hatchet is "flirtin' with disaster..."

Nothing, I mean nothing beats the meaness of AC/DC circa 1983-1986. And that's a fact.

Skynyrd can make a case for the best american band ever (or at least of the 70's).

Thought I could put up some examples.

I'll nominate GnR, just off of Appetite....

Deicide - I hope to see them soon, they have 5 times had gigs in Ireland and every time canceled.
Glen is an absolute beast with that voice.

Skynyrd is king, and the courtly princes would have to be the Allman Bros

A very powerful and cool song. Although I don't listen to metal anymore this one's a classic.
-

Yes and with age they are even shorter and even lighter. The Young brothers in the early days were quick to pick up fights with the audience members who heckled their performace, so I have read.
-
Typical hard-ass Scots those Young brothers ;D
-
Although I don't listen to metal anymore ...
Outed. Remove your Slayer avatar then, you traitor!
-
The Bon Scott era AC/DC.
If any of you grew up in Australia at that time you'd know why they had to be so tough.
Plus these boys were originally brought up in Scotland. I shall say no more other than;
"I rest my case your honor."
-
Hence my post about hard-ass Scots 8)

Hence you would be correct.
I had a friend whose brother ran Grafton's light and sound here in Sydney back in the day. They used to do all the lights and sound for the large stadium concerts.
When AC/DC came back to Sydney after Bon had died to play Back in Back, my friend was back stage. He described the whole stadium as being in total uproar.
Brawls everywhere, coupled with a small sea of marijuana smoke drifting across the battlefield...oops! I mean crowd. Probably just the send off Bon would have wanted.
Rock in Peace Ronald Belford "Bon" Scott.

Love 'em :)

Already said it wes, The Allman Bros were the prince's to Skynyrd's king status 8)

No, Def Leppard are the toughest band of all time for the simple reason that they are still recording and touring extensively 34 years into their career with no signs of slowing down. The guys from the band also have a number of successful side projects on the go e.g. Phil Collen's Man Raze and Joe Elliott's Down 'n' Outz etc. Who can possibly compete with that? Their music is the best ever too.
-
All the punkers, you didn't mention Black Flag. If anyone of you know "Get in the Van" by Henry Rollins, then Black Flag would win. I wouldn't tour in a band day in and day out when the crowds beat you up and throw cups of piss on you at your shows. Not to mention the part where a bus full of skinheads comes to the show just to riot and fight. No thanks.

ever heard of the rolling stones? ::)
-
the honest truth is, virtually all of these bands are composed of tiny men with twinkish physiques that couldnt beat their way out of a paper bag.
-
ever heard of the rolling stones? ::)
But the Rolling Stones sound like shit live nowadays (have done for a long time in fact). They sell hardly any records in the way of new material and it looks like recent friction between Jagger and Richards could spell the end for them.

but point is they have been around for over 50 YEARS with original members still playing shows
-
These kuntz were hard as fuck :D
Seriously, Kilmister,Clark, Taylor Motorhead lineup was intense. Seeing them live at the Glasgow Apollo was an experience not to be forgotten. As far as Brian Johnston goes, I do not consider him real ACDC yet. He is still the new boy to me. Bon Scott was born in a village next to where the Queen Mother had her home. That village is notorious for being the most lawless village in the Scottish Highlands and that's saying something.
