Post by: NEED2PUMP on January 17, 2011, 05:15:14 PM
anyone know of any? seems like every one has sucralose, aspartame, acesulfame potassium, or some other foreign sweetner.

I believe Any Whey by ON would fit the bill.

Have you ever cooked or baked anything with it?

How does it taste?  Is it "natural flavor  :P " or do they have vanilla?  Is it sweetened w/STevia?

GNC's unflavored Soy Protein is one that comes to mind. Of course, I got it, because it was on sale. And I just add some Kool-Aid to it.

No, I've never used it.  Vanilla works fine for the few things I do with powder.

Someone gave me some plain base a few years ago.  Didn't like it.
....hmmm... still have it  :-\ Wonder if it's still good  :-X

So long as it didn't dry up...

Oh, I agree.
I won't speculate either way with my friend, though.
She claims that diet teas & sodas make her feel a little dizzy/light-headed and just generally "off."

She also has a thyroid issue, and while I'm doubtful, I'm not sure if that would have anything to do with it or not.

Thyroid is a pain in the ass - especially if it’s hyperactive.
You could have it removed, but then you’re on Synthroid for the rest of your life.

My friend isn't overweight.
She actually has a mass on her thyroid.
We discovered it by accident when performing carotid dopplers on each other in the lab one day.
Apparently, nodules of this type are common in women, but when there’s only one on one side, it’s often a cause for concern.

She had it biopsied and it’s benign.
The thing is huge and causes her a bit of pain/discomfort at times, but I don’t know if it would contribute to sensitivites to things like aspartame.

Yeah, I wouldn't be in any hurry, either.
If it's underactive, you can regulate it, but to have it removed or "killed" with the radiation treatment...

Your condition is really interesting.
I'm not well-versed in thyroid pathology, but I've never heard of someone's that fluctuates the way yours does.

Regardless, so long as it's tolerable, I wouldn't mess with it.

I use Trader Joe's Whey Protein powder no artificial sweeteners or flavors and I swear its the best tasting protein I've ever had.  It comes in chocolate and vanilla and both are amazing.  Its $10 for 14 servings and each serving is only 17 grams so some guys might go through a can in a week or less lol, but I think its well worth it.

Both Met-RX and Syntrax have natural proteins and they are affordably priced as well...
