Title: rubber plated dumbells

who else hates these plated coated dumbells that are way to big,wish my gym had regular steel dumbells

Hate the rubber dumbells and plates/....

theres a ballys in glendale, ca.  that uses 7.5lbs steel plates on dumbells instead of the conventional 10lb plates

so for example a normal 85lb would have 4 -10lb plates on each side
this gym it has its 85lb dumbell with 5 -7.5lb on each side and a 2.5 on each side... make it appear your are stronger then you really are

I have a set of the plates.....great for deadlifts......but I don't really like the dumbells either.

Can't stand them. Steel is best. Ivanko Steel. Those rubberized ones are off.

They're made so when idiots like you drop those massive 15 lbers when you're doing curls, they don't damage the gym floor.

And that's the reason why gyms are resorting to these now. Back in the day, if you slammed the shit out of a pair of 60's you would have a 300lb monster grab you by the neck and tell you to put them back on the shelf.
