Post by: slaver on January 19, 2011, 08:25:42 PM
I mean the one place they belong aside from carrying a 2 handed sword is in comic movies.

Because the same personality flaws that make them morph their physiques into something that most people are disgusted by...

...would also make them a horrible performer in any art discipline, inlcuding acting...

 Exactly.

Nowadays fake camera muscles are easy to make with props and special effects.

Acting skill and a big name that the audience recognizes is what they look for.

There is a rumour going around that Jay might play a Transformer in the upcoming sequel, where he morphs into a fridge

very arguable

acting skill is very subjective

I do notice theater trained actors stand out.

Matt Damon and ben afflek work a lot and are aweful
So is denzel washignton aweful as hell
will smith etc.
I think most actors and punits overrate the ease with witch someone new can go in and do a good job.

There not that bad, and have been in films where there acting worked, and at best there ok as supporting cast.

Bodybuilders are usually fucking awful I.E. retard bad, this is common sense,  fuck Cutler can't even act like a guy under 50.

Besides meathead must be tall and body builders are short, Arnie and lou are the only real exceptions and surprise surprise they got jobs. That's ignoring roids of course. Just think of the hollywood muscle that got big just for being big and nothing else, Lou Arnie, Hogan, The rock, steve austin, even hugh jackman were sold as being tall.

Edit: And of course Lundgren :P

I always thought Dennis Newman in his prime would have made for a good Superman. Whether he can act or not I have no idea, but in terms of the right face and physique for the suit he would have been a good fit.

Because they probably can't act. It'd come off on the screen, seeing them try to act for 120 minutes of film.

He misunderstood when he read that the character would be "shooting a white, sticky substance on lots of men throughout the movie". Perfectly understandable.

Because they are short, nonathletic and waddle around like ducks. They need to cast a tall, jacked athlete.
