Exclusive: FBI Rounding Up 100 Mobsters in Biggest Mafia Bust in NY History

The FBI calls it the biggest mafia round-up in New York history. More than 100 suspected mobsters are being arrested this morning in connection with numerous federal investigations into New York area mob groups.
FBI agents along with NYPD and State Police officers, and US Marshals were conducting raids that began in the early morning hours. Federal charges are expected to range from gambling to racketeering to murder. Law-enforcement officials said members and associates of all five New York mafia families - as well as New Jersey's DeCavalcante family - are among those being arrested.
The arrest operations stretch across the tri-state area with many of the suspects being processed in Brooklyn. US Attorney Loretta Lynch is expected to announce details of the federal charges later Thursday.

I grew up amongst and have had a bunch of interactions with these idiots. The mafia is a complete joke and a shadow of its former self. It makes for good tv but thats it.
Nowadays - the Russians, Albanians, Dominicans, and others are far more dangerous and harmful to the area.
This is all fodder for Holder to fool the public who instead should be going after the criminals on Wall Street and in Govt.

organized crime in sweeping crackdown

Federal agents carried out the takedown in New York City, Long Island, New Jersey, Rhode Island and
Florida.
The feds staged a massive Mafia roundup Thursday, arresting 127 suspected gangsters from the city's
five mob families - along with hoods from New Jersey and Rhode Island - on charges ranging from
racketeering and extortion to murder.
Federal agents launched the largest one-day crackdown on organized crime in FBI history before
dawn.
By noon, the brig at Fort Hamilton was stuffed with members of the Genovese, Gambino, DeCavalcante,
Colombo, Bonanno and Lucchese families.
"Some of these men were involved in classic mob murders," said U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.
"Some were senseless murders."
In one case, said Holder, two of the owners of the Shamrock Bar in the Woodhaven section of Queens
were shot and killed in 1981 "over a spilled drink."
Suspected Gambino family capo Bartolemeo Vernace has been charged with killing the bar owners, John
D'Agnese, 22, and Richie Godkin, 35, the feds said.
Janice Fedarcyk, who heads the FBI's New York
office, said their year-long probe was aided by
turncoat mobsters more interested in cutting deals
than honoring the mob code.
"The vow of silence that is part of the oath of
'omerta' is more myth than reality today," she said.
Also among those nabbed were:
* Reputed Colombo capo Anthony Russo, who is
charged with the 1993 gangland killing of then-
underboss Joseph Scopo during the crime family's
civil war.
* Andrew (Mush) Russo, 76, alleged street boss of
Colombo Family.
**Richard Fusco, 74, alleged Colombo family
consigliere.

No, not at all. However, its called having priorities. The NYC Mafia is a joke and barely in existence. I was joking with a lawyer in court this morning about this and said "there are 100 guys left in the mafia in NYC?" LOL.
Aroumd here, the presence of Albanian, Russian, Dominican, and Salvordoran criminals is far more dangerous to the public but the cops are to scared shit to go after people who will shoot back.
