Title: Bodybuilders Who Came Back From Their Worst Showings
Post by: The_Hammer on January 21, 2011, 01:05:23 AM
Usually when a bodybuilder has a bad showing they're never able to recover their career.

Other than these 3 I can't think of any other.

Haney '90 looked his worse and came back the next year his all time best.

Yates '94 looked bad for him, but came back the next year his all time best.

Coleman '02 arguably the worst of his career and came back the next year bigger than ever.

HEYYYY! Hold your horses!

The great Lee Priest recovered! Remember the MrO where he practically didn't diet at all and came second to last or something... His 'best days' were still ahead at that point

Casey Viator went from winning 3 grand prix in 1980 to coming dead last at the 1981 California pro. He then came back to his best ever for 3rd at the olympia in 1982.

In 2002, Kevin competed in my Australian Pro, he placed 4th in a very average lineup and was far from his best shape, putting it bluntly , he was way off. He drank heavily on the flight over and I really thought that he was done.

He goes home rests up and 6 months later he nearly beat Ronnie at the Olympia and was as good as he had ever been. I have never seen anyone come back as spectacularly as that.

I think he only trained for 4-5 months for that 2002 Olympia.

PS: Kevin was always a great guest.

How is Cutler not on this list? He looked great in 2001, looked like shit in 2005 and came back looking sharp the last 2 years.
